DaveWParticipantSomething needed doing badly to slow down the arrogants prats who speed into and out of ASDA. It is not a bloody racetrack you idiots !!!
DaveWParticipantThey’ll just blow over in the wind and scatter rubbish over everywhere. Not good idea !
DaveWParticipantYes, we’re all very sceptical how these roadworks will improve matters for anyone travelling north on the A483 at rush hour 7:30 to 9:30 !
Wrexham MP Ian Lucas I believe said the only option for these A483 travellers who then wish use the A55 is a dedicated link from the A483 to the A55 Eastbound. Looking at the information provided from Cheshire highways etc this is not going to happen. Instead one roundabout will be replaced by two new additional sets of lights.
This will still mean mega holdups at the Post House roundabout due to all the A55 traffic coming off to go to Chester Business Park or now plus the odd traffic wanting to turn across the A483 towards Rough Hill.
It will be an expensive waste of money and an ongoing source of frustration for all of us who travel from south of Chester and outside Cheshire !!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^ Dave, please tell me you are not basing your argument on the fact that you don’t actually go to Flintshire
please try reading more than one sentence :D
DaveWParticipantAs a Wrexham resident on and off for 59 years I can count on one hand the number of times I have been to Flintshire. What does it have to offer for Wrexham residents, Mold, Deeside don’t make me laugh??? Only Moel Famau makes a trip there worth it.
In my 59 years I have been in a number of counties, Denbighshire, Clwyd and now Wrexham county borough. It seems that every so often some remote politician dreams up a wow scheme to change the county boundaries of somewhere they don’t know , waste everyone’s time and get everyone’s back up.
If the economic arguement is so damn good then can Mr Andrews publish it for Wrexham residents to see and review please. There is already co-operation between councils in Wrexham and Flintshire but economics is only part of it, there are other social factors to be considered if you want to merge any counties, towns or whatever. Mr Andrews please do not assume that Wrexham residents want anything to do with Flintshire based on your whim !
DaveWParticipantDrivers who block me from making the right hand turn by the Green Dragon even when they cant get through the traffic lights themselves . Leave a gap please.
Indicators are there for a purpose, please use them , 50% Wrexham drivers do not.
People parking on the roundabout at bottom of fountains at eagles meadow, one day you’ll get hit there. Where are the parking attendants when you need them?
and worst of all, School mums on Percy road and Sontley road who are oblivious to the rest of road users and seem to think they can park wherever they want as long as their kid gets to school in the bloody car !!!!

This is going to cause absolute mayhem, can you imagine for example the situation with this forthcoming ‘ Bubble ‘ match between Wrexham and Chester. I really fail to see also how two extra sets of traffic lights is going to improve the situation
Yes, we’re all very sceptical how it will improve matters for anyone travelling north on the A483 at rush hour 7:45 to 9:15. Removal of one roundabout replaced with a set of lights plus one more lane northbound will still mean mega holdups at the Post House roundabout due to all the A55 traffic coming off to go to Chester Business Park every morning. It will be an expensive waste of money and an ongoing source of frustration and waste of time for all of us south of Chester !!!!!!!!!!!!!

can you begin to imagine what it would be like if they did these road works during the week, just looking at the utter chaos today it wouldnt surprise me if the traffic was queued to oswestry if they did! Why on earth cant they just put a slip from the 483 to the A55 west, that would relieve loads of traffic, the current plan WONT work!
I went to Rhyl today it was only a last minute change of plan (before i knew about the road works) that i had to go to cowen so ended up with the ruthin – denbigh – st asaph route (which imo is quicker than going down the 55 from the post house on a normal day!!)
##
Two slip roads have been needed (to A55 west and also to A55 east) ever since the roundabout was first established, probably some 20-25 years ago !!!
As a regular daily commuter from Wrexham to the M53/M56 the two useless roundabouts on the A483 to A55 add at least half an hour to any daily journey to work from around 7:45am to 9:15 am.
Wrexham MP Ian Lucas is already closely watching for these new plans to see if :
1. They will actually help commuters from Wrexham area
OR
2. They will simply benefit commuter/shoppers going to Chester from other areas of Cheshire and North Wales and add further misery to Wrexham commuters.I am extremely sceptical that they will alleviate the daily issues of anyone travelling north on the A483 from Wrexham and beyond who want to access the A55.
Perhaps we Wrexhamites need to raise our voices a bit louder so that they can be heard in Cheshire. Come on Mr Lucas, Mr Vaughan and Wrexham Council get behind your Wrexham citizens for once please.
A very long time cheesed off commuter :(:(:(
DaveWParticipantAgreed, I am neither a criminal nor a hooligan so STUFF YOUR BUBBLE !!
