DRParticipantCheers for the feedback – appreciate it!
Have been playing with the forums myself all morning on various different devices and we have spotted there does seem to be a problem with the reply function.
Another minor thing is I appear to have developed two forum accounts and can’t work out why :D
Will tell the web goblins to get back to work.
DRParticipantAs mentioned above forums are a work in progress and if there is any feedback on what you’d like to see and how it can improve let us know :D
DRParticipantYou’d be surprised at how many people do read the forums and the difference between the amount of people who post to how many who ‘lurk’ and simply read the posts.
At the time of this comment there were 10 registered users on the forums and 67 ‘guests’ reading them
DRParticipantResults of the public consultation could be interesting given the generally lowish turn out for consultations in the past.
DRParticipantJust a reminder the webchat is taking place tomorrow afternoon between 2 and 4pm. You can post questions now or tomorrow during the live webchat.
We’ve also had a few questions emailed in, so if you’d rather be anon then feel free to email them to [email protected] :D
DRParticipantInteresting document was referenced to in this evening’s Scrutiny Committee. First time we have seen the document and had to be done via a Google search as not too easy to find on Council website.
Worth a read – details on replacement leisure centres and some interesting comments on Total Fitness and Plas Madoc: https://www.wrexham.gov.uk/assets/pdfs/leisure/wrexham_feasibility_study.pdf
DRParticipantJust for clarification, there will be two police stations in Wrexham.
The new ‘divisional HQ’ will be located on the Llay Industrial Estate (Police Station Move To Llay Takes Step Forward | Wrexham.com) – and will serve both Wrexham and Flintshire.
While a smaller station for the town centre will be located in the Oriel Gallery (minus the sea pictured in the artist design :D ) First Look At Wrexham’s New Town Centre Police Station | Wrexham.com
DRParticipantA tweet was put out on the council website at 4:53pm. Luckily we spotted it last minute and one of us managed to pop down! Although there didn’t seem to be any member of staff there to live tweet the meeting – looking at the feed now there aren’t any meeting related tweets on there aside from the info about the meeting being off.
The reason given for the meeting being off was due to a problem with the system. Will pop some queries in tomorrow to find out what was at fault and if it will be back up for next week’s Exec Board :)
Just to add – it didn’t look as though the meeting was being recorded either as generally there are two / three members of staff on computers monitoring the live updates, but nothing of such tonight. So imagine there is no copy of this evening’s meeting.
DRParticipantCouncil site states that just press and public are excluded from Part 2 – a lot of councillors not on the Exec Board had left at various stages during the meeting:
Exclusion of Press and Public
In considering whether to exclude the press and public from the next part of the meeting Members are asked to consider the following factors when determining the public interest test.Agenda Items 17 to 20 – Not for publication by virtue of Paragraph 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended). The Proper Officer has determined in considering these reports that paragraph 14 should apply. His view on the public interest test was that while he was mindful of the need to ensure the transparency and accountability of public authorities for decisions taken by them in relation to the spending of public money, the right of a third party to the privacy of their financial/ business affairs outweighed the need for that information to be made public. This information is not affected by any other statutory provision which requires the information to be publicly registered. On that basis he felt that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
It is, therefore, recommended that the press and public be excluded from the Meeting during consideration of the following items as it is likely that, if they were present, there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).
DRParticipantI used to get the Arriva bus to Darland in the mornings when I went to school there years ago. There was only a double decker bus available in the morning’s for the school in my area, which tended to be full after the first two stops meaning the Arriva was the only other option if you wanted to get to school! (unless you walked ;) or got a lift)
I can see how irritating it is for people going to work / Chester etc though :D
