Why are people suggesting the road be narrowed? That would cause more congestion on an already busy road. Better

If Go-Safe were truly about slowing traffic down they wouldn’t hide on bends or bridges. They’d make themselves highly visible. They’re tax collectors, pure and simple.

The white van with the blue/yellow chequer stripes on the bridge at Chirk last weekend was easy to spot a mile away on the dead straight road, but it didn’t stop people going past it at 80 mph.
Problem here is the van sits on the bridge above the dual cw part going up the hill where there are never any accidents. There are maintenance lay by’s either end of the bridges so why he doesn’t sit in those to reduce speeds where it is needed I’ll never know. Oh yeah I know, it’s because the van would be highly visible there from a long way off unlike where he sits now hidden by trees until the last few yards.

Simple thing is those bridges need to be temporarily barriered down the centre until it is made dual cw to Shrewsbury.
On December 5th we were told there would be a meeting of all parties, it is now December 16th, how long does it take to arrange a meeting? As suggested before, meet at fence, remove a piece each job done. Ribbon and scissors can be provided if official opening required !
Now that’s just plain silly. First they need a meeting to arrange a meeting, then they’ll have to wait for a new ipad to put the minutes on. Next consultants have to evaluate if opening it up is cost effective. Then a meeting to discuss consultants findings and arrange a highways H+S site visit. They’ll decide the junction is 2mm narrower than regs state so will have to be altered. Temp traffic lights up then while they carry out work (probably a week after temp lights went for signs and line work). Another inspection by highways followed by site visit from council to have a look. Then a meeting to agree a date of opening, 6month statutory period then of notices going up to say it’s opening. Meeting to confirm opening date followed by opening day with councillors there for photo call announcing all parking problems at the hospital will be a thing of the past (483 Posthouse jct ring any bells?) New entrance road will open for 3 days until 2 clueless drivers prang into each other then it’ll be coned off until an investigation into what can be done to improve the safety record of said entrance.

As a parent I think it’s great. First it lets children know that in life there are rules, some of these may not be popular but are there to be obeyed regardless of if you like them. Secondly I’d much rather my children put on a uniform each morning for school rather than having the fuss over what to wear and what not to wear.

I often wonder what people are eating and drinking when they moan about recycling boxes. We’re a family of 4 and our box for glass I could leave for 4 weekly collection without a problem. Plastic I put out fortnightly but could leave it 3 weekly. Waste food caddy we don’t use as it would take us all year to half fill it. Paper I put out fortnightly too and that’s with 2 of us working from home so quite a bit of paper waste from that.
why are you going over 24 hours 90% of traffic is over a 14 hour day not 24.
That makes the average amount of traffic even higher then!!

I think it’s a good idea, as you say people restricted by pay and display times will cut short a trip into town. What I’m not sure about is the entrance to EM car park is so close to the road how long before there is traffic chaos round there as queues build waiting for the barriers?

Screwfix still do catalogues if people think their life is that bad without something to read.

Speed cameras are only useful for raising money. They only slow drivers down for about 20yds and that’s it. With the exception of the 1 on the bend coming into Pontblyddyn they’re never put at accident sites. The only way you’ll stop speeding down there is with a succession of cameras or average speed ones.

To me it sounds like a good plan but needs to be nearer the 483. As above too the boy racers will love it in the middle of the night!
