Being in the EU does not mean that the EU controls immigration. The government has always had the option to restrict immigration. It’s always chosen not to because immigration benefits society.

Until we got a Racist PM.

We helped create EU laws. Our elected MEPs helped.

In almost all cases, the UK has not been on the losing side of an EU vote.

There are no EU laws that have caused you problems. If there are, name one.

If we leave the EU, we will be back within a decade. Without the benefits we arranged over 40 years. Poorer, and a vastly reduced nation.

But hey, blue passports and no people with lots of consonants in their names, eh?

To be fair to Arriva, they’re hamstrung by the trains they have to use (they don’t get to choose the rolling stock) and the nature of the lines in Wales. Doesn’t help that vehicles seem to forever be striking bridges near Shotton, and the lines to the north west of Wales are particularly prone to flooding.

If you go to journeycheck.com/arrivatrainswales it gives you very detailed information of any expected delays, and roughly when to expect your train.

It will fail. It’s not wanted, it’s not needed. It’s in the wrong location, and it’s being pushed through as a vanity project that will ultimately be a big white elephant. It’ll kill what’s left of the market, as the arts hub will be promoted and people will forget the market is there.

Ironic, as there is no market for an arts hub. If there were, Glyndwr would’ve set one up at one of their sites, given that they’re home of the arts in town. They haven’t.

It’s as doomed as WH Smith.

Any language which has to have a law passed to enforce its use is a dying language. Complete waste of resources.

It’s a myth to say it’s the same everywhere; Wrexham is particularly awful with people with drink and drug problems. I can honestly say since moving to Shrewsbury, we’ve never felt the need to check the park for needles before letting our toddler play.

I wonder if the owners of those units have an overall goal; seems strange that all of the retailers are moving out over a relatively short space of time. Could be they have interest from someone who wants several of those units.

And I doubt they’d put the Post Office upstairs; plenty of room at the back of the shop. The post office here in Shrewsbury is technically at basement level, but accessible via the main entrance of the indoor shopping centre and then lifts/escalators.

Arriva’s website and apps tell you how to catch a bus, and putting your arm out is listed there.

A phrase which often pops into my head as adequate description of your frequent spammy posts which add nothing to any debate, a style which reached its nadir when you posted replies to every thread simply to be the most recent poster on them all the other day, which I’m sure lead to several people whacking their heads against a brick wall in order that their brains could be taken down to an equivalent level.

There is no statutory right to a refund for an item that you simply don’t want. If it’s not faulty, you can argue but they don’t have to relent. All sales are final, buyer beware and all that. A good retailer will offer a refund if they want to, but it’s entirely their discretion.

If residents can’t park in their own street because of Gerrard’s staff and town centre workers and shoppers then some streets may need some sort of permit system applied. I have occasionally used Ruthin Road to park for an hour or two but I wouldn’t have the cheek to park in any of the residential side streets (Peel St, Gibson St etc) while I went to work all day.

A few years back, the area was polled to see if we wanted residents parking permits. It would cost a nominal fee (£20 a year or something), and would mean although you wouldn’t be guaranteed a space, the only on-road parking would be for residents. No shoppers or workers.

It sounded great. A cheap solution which would’ve reduced congestion, potentially raised money for the council with fines, all at a very small fee to local residents who complain about the lack of parking.

It was rejected by the same local residents.
