Jealousy is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius.

Face it, if you could vote yourself a nice pay rise you would! Screw saving £45,000,0000 and fairness, its do as I say, not as I do!

I applaud them for following human nature and feathering their own nests.

Are we getting value for money from the new enlarged Executive Board? Having watched a number of webcast meetings , there is no obvious difference , the meetings still appear staged and most important votes are unanimous. The extra two members cost in the region of £63,000, what purpose do they serve ?

Executive – Relating to or having the power to put plans or actions into effect (think about the savings they will make on the Groves!)

And this is why they get Executive pay!
We certainly get Value For Money, no qualms about that.

Jimbow, you can attend but cannot ask questions.

Check out the Council’s website as it explains it all there.

Very good point wrexview, the carpark could have easily been extended!

I am still of the opinion that the presence of highly visible attendants ticketing cars would stop a lot of the chancers and free up a lot of spaces. Next time you are there, count how many cars fail to display a ticket!

Exactly Daave63 .. you are no expert. Take time off from the net
    and maybe study something.

It retained the name Grove Park until it closed in 1983 when its pupils and staff were absorbed into the Groves High School.

    FYI

Bromfield High School, Pen y Maes Avenue
In 1972, following the adoption of comprehensive education by Denbighshire County Council, Grove Park County Grammar School for Girls merged with Grove Park County Grammar School for Boys to form two new mixed-sex comprehensive schools — Grove Park School and Bromfield High School.
Bromfield was accommodated in the buildings of the former girls school and served the Chester Road, Maes y Dre and Queens Park areas.

Looks like the battle is lost boys…NO! Hang on, whats all this, ribbons, hearts, ballons, £1 million quid to buy and repair the building, oh no sorry …just ribbons, hearts and ballons full of hot air and un realistic ideas! Hey why not go the whole hog and draft Sally Webster from Corrie to spearhead the campaign.

Wrexham’s draft Tree and Woodland Strategy (2015-2025)

The Strategy sets out ambitious targets to increase the urban tree cover in the County Borough by 20% across the ten year plan, to help in terms of climate change, pollution, flooding and biodiversity . This will be achieved by ensuring the correct policies are in place in terms of planning and local development, targeted work will be undertaken to improve the wards with the lowest tree cover and the opportunity for grant aid will be utilised.

Sadly I cannot do anything but I have every sympathy when the Councillor car park lies half empty!

    Planning Committee – Monday, 4th January, 2016 4.00 pm
    RESOLVED
    – That consideration of the application be deferred to allow the applicant time to consider alternative solutions in respect of the displacement of existing disabled spaces from the Library car park (Rhosddu Road) and for the Head of Community Wellbeing and Development to seek clarification from North Wales Police regarding the operational requirements of the proposed development so that the application could be considered by the Committee on the basis of the fullest information possible.

May I suggest that you contact your Councillor, @wrexham.gov.uk">parking@wrexham.gov.uk and copy in @wrexham.gov.uk">chiefexecutive@wrexham.gov.uk and suggest this as an “alternative solution”.

    Please post the response here.

An excellent post, it made me laugh on a grim Wrexham morning!

When mentioning obvious cock ups, its a good job everyone has forgotten Wrexham missing out on city status to St Asaph as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Wrexham Council went ahead with the city status bid despite members of the public voting almost two to one against it in a consultation. I think it cost us around £20,000 to put in a losing bid.

With this in mind, do you REALLY think that the Council would have listened to the public?

Democracy must be built through open societies that share information. When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate, there are solutions. When there is no sharing of power, no rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse, corruption, subjugation and indignation.
