Councillor XParticipantI am sure that all Councillors do their homework before what could be considered a foot in mouth remark or remarks, so they must have sufficient concerns to speak up against the granting of permissions.
If it was left to Top Managers to make decisions then bad ones would lead to fingers being pointed and allegations of bungs being made. Having Councillors making these decisions means that they are speaking for the people they represent and have no self interest or nothing to gain.
i also think it is shameful that Wrexham.com show the face of a Councillor against the headline here!
Councillor XParticipantI could not agree more. No problems getting to work and back.
Thank you WCBC!
Councillor XParticipantEverybody knows somebody that keeps work back to do after hours or on Saturday so that they get overtime. The flexible working scheme that the Council has stops this so instead of time and a half or double time, they get the hours they work back and save the Council a lot of money.
Of course there are people who abuse this to get Friday off but overtime costs have stopped or should have.
It also means that staff do not need Crown or Guildhall car parks and money can be made from these. If nobody works on a Friday it means that the work has been done Monday to Thursday and Top Managers will make sure there are enough people in to answer the phone.

Why is it empty on Fridays?
You will be surprised the number of WCBC staff who do not work on a Friday. They have flexible hours and put a 37 hour week into 4 days.
When half term comes around the Council offices come to a standstill, they all take the week off.
That may the case but they do have to work the long hours to get Friday off so they are correct to do this.
Crown car park will remain as extra free Council parking until the building is sold.
Councillor XParticipant
Jimbow, dont forget the cost of the free parking space that was not used
There is not much free space left in the car park because top management and visitors use it. It is only Fridays that it is empty.
My sources tell me that the review of car parking has identified this and will let lower management use it to free up space in public car parks in April. This will generate more money for the Council.
Councillor XParticipantI was right there with you Council Watcher until you brought in parking.
I often say it, believe it and will repeat it here – Councillors and Top Management need free proximity parking to be effective.
Councillor XParticipantI was posting this under the Ty Pawb post but thought it important to revisit past glory.
The big draw to Wrexham was it’s Monday market on Eagles Meadow. People would visit it and walk into town.
The Butter market and lambpit street shops were knocked down and car park lost to make way for a now abandonded shop complex. The Hippodrome shut and was left to burn. That part of town is dead.
So Wrexham has lost its trade but traders are still interested in becoming marketeers in an art galary that few people are expected to visit ……Good luck Ty Pawb I really hope you succeed against all odds.
Councillor XParticipantWCBC is trying to get rid of buildings so it’s untrue. It needs to sell them all off.
It used to rent space above bhs also above Specsavers but pulled out and is getting staff from all buildings on industrial estate and crown buildings.
Councillor XParticipantMatt, I burst out laughing reading that on my iPad in the middle of a meeting – excellent post.
Councillor XParticipantMatthew, I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Top Managers are holding the Council together and with year on year cuts there are very few Top Managers left which would please you and everyone else who thinks they do not deserve perks.Do you not see the money that could be saved here? Sharing a CEO has worked for other Councils.
“Around 45 councils across England share a chief executive and senior management team in about 20 different partnerships. Most also share at least some services. These councils have already delivered savings of at least
£60 million through greater efficiencies and the other benefits of collaboration, with more savings planned.” -
