Always so much negativity against the Council.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.

Maybe Ty Pawb is not the failure that (most) members of this forum wanted it to be.

So many theories being thrown around by the Flat Earth Society members here and now we know where bubble gets his name … he/ she lives in a bubble.

Bubble, there is a real world out there so try visiting earth one day.

I am NOT a Council hater and i DO think that overall the Council do an excellent job on a shoe-string budget. What i do hate is where money is squandered on stupid events and vanity projects for which there are far too many examples. Where white elephants such as Ty Pawb exist, even if you think it is a mistake, you should support it and make it a success.

Do we need to spend £420k on town centre improvements when we have zombie infestations keeping people away? Solve that problem first and then invite people back in.

I DO believe that Councillors and “Top Management” need to park close to the Guildhall to do their jobs and the only way to do it is by excluding the public from these areas. I DON’T think they should have to pay to do thier job, moreso the Councillors who represent the people of Wrexham and are paid poorly.

I think society stinks with the generation who entertained their offspring by sitting them down in front of the TV turning into parents who entertain their kids by giving them computer games, tablets and phones. No interaction required! What next?

It is no wonder the country (not just Wrexham) is in a mess. How long until it all comes crashing down on us?

Those who enjoyed play day will just go back to their screens. Remember when kids used to play out? Calling for friends to play footy or ride their bikes?

Kids need to be kids again and a play day will NOT solve it, it was a waste of money. If the Council were serious about this then they would stage regular events to get them out of the house but this will not happen. Its like Christmas. Its a one day wonder and forgotten by Boxing day.

These are my views and i stand by them.

Bubble, why does it always come down to your hatred of “Top Management”? These officials do an excellent job and deserve something but now it looks like they will have to pay £100 a year just to come to work. You must be over the blood red moon about it.

How on earth Council staff worked listening to screaming kids left there by uncaring parents is beyond me and how people here can defend the expense is also beyond me.

Also “one day of fun” is one too many.

Can anyone tell me how much it cost US? “The equipment consisted of lengths of wood, huge cardboard boxes, sheets of vinyl, bales of hay & water” BUT what about staff costs arranging this, running it and clearing up after it? There was also extra policing to keep the homeless/ druggie/ zombie element away.

And words fail me too Marvinuk. How self centred can you people be? I will probably find out by the bored board watchers waiting to spout yet more puerile rubbish in defence of a publicity seeking flag waving event designed to attract lazy folk who cannot be bothered looking after their offspring.

Also, pastrylover, do you ever say anything worthwhile here?

And still nobody has answered my question!

Why should the Council Tax payers subsidise this event? Why were children not charged a nominal amount to help finance the event?

Where was the option of funding these events in the ‘Difficult Decisions 2018-20’ Consultation document?

Absolute disgrace. Parents should look after their children and not expect the Council to entertain them.

I listen to parents that complain about having to pay for child care during holidays and the answer is if you cannot afford them then DO NO Have them!

Don’t get me started about being lumbered with grandchildren Zinger. Don’t kid yourself because our offspring are just using us as free child care so they can afford their expensive holidays and new cars.

I wonder how much that fiasco cost?

The council should be saving money for use on critical services not wasting it on entertaining the children of people who cannot be bothered looking after them during the holidays.

They should put them all in Ty Pawb because nobody else uses it!

Llay Councillor Rob Walsh tonight said: “Unfortunately, travellers have taken over a field in Llay on the Gresford Road/Gegin Lane junction. It has been an eventful last few hours.
I will speak to the Council Liaison Officer first thing in the morning to see what can be done to get them as quickly as possible.
“Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.”

Why didn’t Rob chase them out of town? He really is no Andrew Atkinson.

I have a VERY high opinion of Council staff but there are always bad onions in every batch.

If the Council treat all staff equally then around 5,000 would be able to buy a pass so that is £500k per annum so they may as well do that because everybody will not use the pass every day.

Better still increase it to a still very cheap £200 and make £1m and then open the scheme up to family and friends and then there is no need for forgery.

Great idea Jimbow, thank you for your input into the suggest-fest.
