I am totally behind our MP’s campaign to highlight empty properties in Wrexham. We raised this about three years ago and ,forgive me , the statements from ” leading Councillors” have an eerily familiar ring about them. As we face a cold snap and a spike in homelessness it is a growing scandal that there is so little change.
As to ” taking enforcement action. ” that is precisely what myself and the community council have been asking for years on an empty site but all we got from WCBC was excuse and delay.

    Which leading Councillors are these?

Many Councillors do work hard, others, not so hard.

Council staff have an annual review to see if they deserve a pay increase so would it not be fair to have a similar scheme for Councillors?

Those who have turned up at meetings and can prove they have made an impact get the money but the bad ones do not.

If the Travellers set up home on the Groves site along with the homeless, would they also be allowed to remain?

Elaine Guntrip-Thomas, chairwoman of Wrexham’s Save Our Heritage group, said the group “knew the worth of the building all along”.
She added: “We believe that we have been vindicated in our decision to campaign to save this important building.
“The next step will be to ensure the building is used to educate future generations.”

Thank you for clarifying this Rob. Its not a free service but at least the homeowner won’t fall foul of cowboys.

Theresa, you could perhaps call the Houseproud scheme on 01978 315300 and see if there is anything that they can do for you.

The Travelers have traveled but do we thank the Council for their swift reaction or have they read Dylan’s suggestion and they are waiting for a move to the Groves?

I heard there was a space in Daave’s back garden for a small small fee!

well done Cllr Williams & well done Wrexham Council & Council Staff.
The moaners have been shut up.

Its a pity that the Councillor who oversees the area where Spider Park sits couldn’t give a rat’s a$$ about the Travellers who set up pitch by the church and the Football pitch.

Obviously the Garden Village People shout louder.

The bridge in Stansty is being closed from July 7th until September 4th for maintenance by Network rail.
This is going to be a summer of bedlam for people of Rhosddu.

Yes, its part of the improvements that are planned for the Rhosddu area.

They will be widening the space under the bridge to finally allow two vehicles to pass without the fear of taking their wing mirrors off.

Next they are tackling the continued problems with the junkies and drunks in the park and garden of rest.

I jest of course, it will be chaos and no different once the repairs have been carried out, plus the zombies will have probably multiplied by then, arriving in those nice new buses from Chester.

AMA Express please send donations to the Help the Zombies appeal.

I am sure that all of the problems associated with inviting a thousand or so people to live in the area would have been fully considered and solutions to any problems discussed and put into action.

So no need to worry about the great health, education and transport problems as there won’t be any!

If you compare the number of new Llay/ Gresford residents against the significant number of EU nationals leaving Britain, expenditure will drop significantly.

    Case closed!
