Your observation is well noted- have any Council Members however ever declared a possible conflict during any of the discussions – ie are any School Staff or pupils related to any Council Member or officer involved in discussions?

I think the debate is going to be which of the contractors is responsible for employing the ‘illegals’. The original contract for contractors was 50 miles but had to be expand to 70 miles due to insufficient work force. This certainly is not a case of ‘illegals’ taking work from local people.
Also was this a spot check carried out by the Immigration Authorities or a ‘tip off’.
Weasal you refer to ‘once again’ — is this a reference to Wrexham – if so there has probably only been a handful of cases over the past 3/4 years – mainly food and restaurant business. Are you aware of others?

Andrew I think you missed the point about “The most crucial aspect in local elections is to vote for the person you feel will genuinely represent those that vote for them” — there are not many people who can say that their Council Member does this when their is a ‘whip’ process in a Group and nit free vote.
One line I suppose I did miss out was that the ‘quality’ of the person elected needs to be of a standard to full fill the role.
It has been stated on another thread that less than 50% of the Council Members across all Parties can even be bothered to report annually on what they have done (not done) . This does include you Andrew as the last one you have listed is 2012/13- why do you not feel you should be brought to account- perhaps the Ballot Box will tell.

One of the points on this is that ALL traditional political parties do not appear to listen to the general public jumping on the band wagon of others and seeking photo opportunities. The electorate deserve more and people not engaged with Party Politics may be the way forward. The most crucial aspect in local elections is to vote for the person you feel will genuinely represent those that vote for them– instead of the sheep that feel they have to follow ‘their’ leader. Far play to Phil Wynne and a couple of other Independents who votes o tow the party line (even if the Party in this case are Independents)

I thought it was April Fools day today when a read that another £500k of Vibrant and Viable is to be spent on the Arts Hub. The Council have not even had a full set of Stage 2 Architects detailed designs or costings or put to tender to get a full build cost.
The turning of the tap and getting more funding is a disgrace to all concerned both locally and through to Welsh Government.
It may be different budgets but the same amount of £500k is being consulted on about the effective total closure of the Youth and Play service in the County.
The level of Due Diligence on this project by all from the Council, Arts Council and WG is nothing short of ‘shoddy’.

It is common sense that this number of extra places are not required in the town centre as the 12,000 new homes are County wide. If a school is to built on the Groves this can only occur if another closes and the children moved or we have a massive fleet of ‘Child Catcher’ buses going around the County. The Alexander response was red herring.

It also appears that the Audiology Department are going to be busy in the Maelor Hospital as selective hearing must now be an contagious illness that affects Council Members.

Thanks Wrexham.com for the update from todays Scrutiny Meeting — it would apper at last that some Councillors are starting to find their feet an challenge the “stand in” . I may not agree with Clr Jones on some points but it shows today that he seemed to have a handle on the issues being discussed.
There seemed to be a number of fast shoe shuffle responses. Rates on Community Buildings, Lead Dep problems giving massive delays for dealing with matters.
Perhaps one of the legal contingencies they are looking at is another fight with the Berry family over their Homestead — last time it cost £100k s or how many other ‘large’ legal challenges are on the horizon that are already known but not yet in the public domain.

You need to check with Wrexham Council — I believe every bus operating after 6.00pm in the Wrexham area is subsidised. Ring 292000 to seek information and complain — good luck if you get any rebate/compensation
