Council WatcherParticipantCould Santas grotto not be used in the evening as a rest shelter for our weary drinkers or even better as a six bed accommodation unit for some of the homeless- would that not actually bring more Christmas cheer to people who will b e on the street
Council WatcherParticipantAs the Groves campers appear to have disappeared into thin air does it mean that they were ‘seasonal’ only. There have for many years been ‘seasonal’ people who would turn up out of thin air to attend protest marches, camps, festivals and demonstrations and then disappears.
Over the years there have been the big protest such as Greenham Common with many women putting their lives on hold to protest– many people may remember characters such as ‘swampy’ who used to dig holes at many protest sites and go to ground.
You have to ask how many at the Groves were actually from reasonable stable backgrounds but joined the camp to just be part of the action.January 21, 2017 at 6:20 pm in reply to: 'The Wrexham we want?' – anyone completed the survey #125755
Council WatcherParticipantNen in case you missed it this is the second one following up on comments peole submitted to the first survey
Council WatcherParticipantBasic education on health so that peole dont thank A & E is the dumping ground for all ailments — people should turn up to A & E for splinters or headlice they should take personal responsability and go to a chemist for bottle treatment and their own pair of tweezers – these examples should be turned away ar reception

Council WatcherParticipantI can’t understand why Rex Han and Benjamin are so uptight about what Carol has submitted- yes lots of spelling mistakes but the issue is worth an airing. How do you know this does not amount to £100,000’s of pounds would you think the issue trivial then. Surely the fact the Council won’t release figures indicates there is probably something to hide.
Yes business will offer ‘incentives ‘ quite often but why should we as ratepayers have to pay for the workers in the Public Sector.
Often when there is a refusal to give information this is the tip of the iceberg..
Council WatcherParticipantHaving met Russ Kent the new Governor he certainly seems to be a very modern thinker as far as the use of a prison as a place of reform and not just a lock them up and throw the key away. Let’s hope that he does not become ‘turned’ to old Prison ways of working.
It should be pointed out that HMP Birmingham is being run by a private contractor and HMP Berwyn will be run by the Government, Time will tell if different overall management makes a difference.
Council WatcherParticipantIts not that the right people have not been asked as everyone would have had the opportunity but it was an issue that just did not motivate them– statistcally you could argue that a non participative viter is one who either disagrees or could not care less and certainly no one that actually wnated to save the building
Council WatcherParticipantThere is no Johnstown Community Council they come under Rhos= many contractiors now with the Public Sector will offer items as part of a Corporate Social Responsbility policy- there is a risk that the carrot being danged to decsion makers may distort tendering process as the ‘perk’ can have an intrinsice value that distors the bid process..
Council WatcherParticipantAs the Market traders are having to leave then this means the Council will have to pour more funding into the project as their budget plans included income from the Market Traders for the duration of the build
November 26, 2016 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Wrexham Council employees to spend less in local shops and make money #123412
Council WatcherParticipantIn response to Wrexview the Council is still in a postion to save employer NI if they encoruage staff to buy bikes, childcare vouchers etc on salery sacrifice- this card schem looks like a beniefit to staff but a cost to ratepayers
Salary sacrifice
Some employees choose to have different benefits as part of their remuneration package. The Government has now announced that following its consultation, the tax and employer National Insurance advantages of salary sacrifice schemes will be removed from April 2017, except for arrangements relating to pensions, childcare, Cycle to Work and low emission cars. Arrangements entered into before April 2017 will be protected until April 2018, and arrangements for other cars, accommodation and school fees until April 2021.
