CerysHughesParticipantBrown fields will always be at the bottom of the pile to housebuilders because it costs more to decontaminate and make ready for building.
remploy of course has been built on, but the council forgot to organise a section 106 to fix the future gridlock under the rhosddu bridge.

Are you trying to say that wrexham has too many tossers? Many girls will agree. :D
CerysHughesParticipantJohn,
If you went back 70 years, the political correctness brigade then wouldn’t have had problem with somebody describing somebody as indian, pakistani or chinese because there would have been a 99.9% chance they would have been Indian, Pakistan or China.
However, we’ve had numerous waves of immigration since then. For instance one of my friends looks like she is from the asian sub continent, however she is ugandan (Idi Amein’s fault why she lives in the Britain.)
Due to transport modernising over the last 100 years, it’s quite easy for somebody to move countries and settle, have kids and those kids take the nationality.
I guess now you have to say indian ancestry or of indian origin (although that isn;t always polite or correct.)
One of the main reasons you shouldn’t use indian, pakistan or chinese is to cover your own ass, because even though most people in wrexham would use it with no malice whatsoever, there is always the odd person who wants to settle a score or grudge, especially as there does seem to be an increase in race related violence in the town by a very very very small tiny minority.
Nobody is from the wrong generation, just people aren’t taught how to decribe or address others and are afraid to ask, so do it a little bit wrong.
CerysHughesParticipantWhen i first saw this, I thought ooops this may cause a reaction.
sadly we’re not given lessons on how to describe other people and wrexham isn’t the most cosmopolitan place in the world where we see many people who aren’t from celtic or anglo saxon origin.
I just took it as somebody trying to say “it’s great that wrexham is a place were you meet people in everyday activities who are of other nationalities or different origins and speedy cars have staff that drive safely too.”
On another point, in the exam that wrexham taxi drivers must take is there a question about “Should you always cut up other cars?” and do they fail if they answer no or depends…

And he also he didn;t answer the question, he just defected it by changing the subject.

To paraphrase his response: me, me and talk about me.
CerysHughesParticipantAnd the staff who are paid at plas madoc are both paid less for the equivelent jobs 12 motnhs ago and get smaller benefits like half the employer pension contributions.
Fine of course as long as the council plans for extra jobs nd extra investment. Where has the EU money gone to compensate for and try to increase the less than average wages?

There are a lot of laws, rules and regulations in place surround volunteering that are easily accessible by a good google search. However, a company cannot take a paid job away and replace that paid job with a volunteer placement.
It’s already happened.
Just compare and contrast with Plas Madoc now and Plas Madoc 12 months ago.
Just compare and contrast with the communitiy centres now and community centres 12 months ago.
Just compare what Cllr Paul Rogers wants to do with Brymbo Library.
Just compare what the Cllrs want to d0 with Belvue park.
etc
CerysHughesParticipantYou’ve lost my vote then.
CerysHughesParticipantMr Wynn,
Are you up for a TV debate?
Wouldn’t it be a good advert for Glyndwr Uni’s Media Dept to hold a TV debate?
It would be good if the candidates stopped hiding behind press releases, letters, email and tweets.
