The snow is great it means that my garden which I only cut the grass is now the same as my neighbour who spends £100’s every year- just wautuing to see if they get the yard brush out to brush their plastic grass!!

There will be a kickback to the time limit – look how many cars have moved from Penymaes Avenue and Westminster Drive — lots of town workers who work all day now using the freebies.

This is another example of the writer and the reader having different interpretations of the message — Councils are notorious for this even though they are supposed to communicate using styles of ‘Plain English’.. officialdom English and everyday English are often very different.

Another statement they made that was misleading was about school budgets being frozen — what this actually meant was there is a budget cut as schools like business etc have inflationary rises in many of their costs, salary increases in line with agreed practices etc.

I have every sympathy with you and can confirm what you have written based on personal experience- whilst I don’t condone the behaviour of the young people who U believe are from across all grouping and not just the one you have highlighted — the school uniforms are the gave away to youngsters from a variety of schools being a problem.

I don’t want to see youngsters being criminalised for their behaviour but something needs to be done as a matter of urgency — whatever happened to the Town Centre Youth Club – The Vic has that fallen to the Council cuts.

Shoplifting this time of the year is a nightmare– CCTV is only useful after the event to check if something happened – not many of the shop owners can afford to have someone monitoring their systems.

Many of the shops that have radio link don’t share details of ‘suspects’ so a shop can be prepared — we all need to be working together or prices will have to rise to cover the extra costs of staff and theft

What is clear from this document is that in most instances no one actually knows what is being spent on service so they don’t know if accepting a particular proposal will result in a service cut or one that actually closes services.

The Council are holding some meetings for a select group of organisations that are probably cherry-picked to make they are not the ones that will raise issues.

The survey is not necessarily reflective of the demographic split across the county for age, gender, nationality etc.

I find it incredible to think 2000 have gone online and completed the survey? Have they done some work in schools to try and boost the number of ‘participants’?

I fully sympathise with your views, however :
Detox is generally unavailable as there are only very few beds in Wrexham and surrounding area
Many of the addicts are unwilling to contemplate a change and see their destiny is an early grave
You were right about the number of needles dispensed and none collected.
The war of words between the Council and the Crime Commissioner on who will pay for PCSO s in the next year- both Council and PCC are saying no will mean fewer uniforms on the street so less deterrent leads to more of a problem

Nen has a strong argument for wage increases — similar to how much should a Chief Executive of a Council get paid – for the size of the Council budget and number of staff they would probably be on £200k plus in the Private Sector– why should someone who starts work in a Public Sector Department — Education, Social Services, Environment etc assume the top of their career path is a Chief Executive. Would we be better if Council Chief Executives were recruited from people in the private sector who have strong management experience?

Fully agrees with designated parking as many disabled people fund walking difficult – as for free this should not be the case- a person with a disability us nit automatically without funds to pay the charge. There are a wide range f Benefits that someone can apply for under Universal Credits and if assessed to require financial support for finance then they will get this element.

AS far as new cars, many will be on the Motability Scheme.

I have a child at Victoria School and am quite concerned at what Council Watcher has written. I am glad that the air quality is being measured by the school but why was this site was chosen– has there been incidences of high pollution in the Victoria Road area of the town.

Cllr Hugh Jones has made a statement that air quality has improved since the WHO report- the point is how long was the pollution level high. as the Council had been monitoring the levels why was the public not alerted, why where the children at the school not instructed to stay inside.

The defense that Clr Jones has put forward does nothing to give me confidence that my child’s health and their teachers have not been affected- if a child is in Victoria School for 7 years breathing polluted air what impact will this have.

Are there a higher level of people clustered in the area that has had various forms of cancer?

As Councillor for the area, Phil Wynne should ask for a full investigation or was he aware of the situation of the high pollutant levels but did nothing.

The historical impact on peoples health from this type of pollutant is well documented.

Every parent should be asking the question from the Head Teacher on Monday when they return to school, this should not be ignored.

The recent Health and Safety Executive fining of the Council is an example of how they ignored a serious issue is this another scandal that they are trying to bury with an “It’s all ok now”

A few years ago I would have agreed about the need to stop using consultants — that was at a time when there were some really good managers that unfoirtaianly were not being listened to by the Executive and senior management. Now many of those with knowledge have left and the vacuum left will not be filled with existing staff.

The loss of good personnel is often the downfall of any business or institution and with so many changes already and a very large number of staff wanting to leave (if anyone has a friend or relative ask them do they want to stay or leave- not many of this that I know want to leave — far from it they would jump ship overnight given the opportunity)
