bubbleParticipant
It seems that wrexham.com may have just finally nailed their colours to the mast.
… especially as you don’t bother hiding your bias anymore!

I don’t understand this. Would you rather they hid their bias?

I find it hard to care about what the new name will be – but if I had to suggest a name it would be Dafydd.
WTF are you on about bubble? Dafydd! Dafydd! -”but if I had to suggest a name it would be Dafydd.” What are you on man? Dafydd!! The Dafydd Arts Hub!! Shite!

OK. Point taken. Dafydd is an unsuitable name.
What about Rhodri?

bubbleParticipantI am so pleased Labour won in Wrexham. I was fully expecting them to lose – if only because I voted for them! I was going to spoil my ballot paper, but then Theresa May stated her opinion on fox hunting. I don’t think she deserved to win in Wrexham or Clwyd South – she’s made two visits here and they’ve been so stealthy. If she can’t be bothered to engage with the public (rather than just with her existing supporters) in Wrexham, then why should people have voted for her.
bubbleParticipantI couldn’t read it, just the headline. I didn’t want to see the photo. If they ever catch who did this I have no confidence whatsoever that they’ll be given anything more than a slap on the wrist. Maybe a suspended sentence and a ban on keeping animals for a few years.

bubbleParticipantThree out of five candidates for my ward have posted information on Wrexham.com. Not everyone will come to Wrexham.com for information; the traditional routes for candidates to communicate with votes are by arriving in person on the doorstep, or sending a member of staff canvassing, or at the very least paper leafleting. So far I have only received a leaflet from one candidate (and that person is one of those who already posted info on Wrexham.com).
There is absolutely no chance that I will vote for any of those who haven’t managed to communicate their policies/beliefs to me. If they cannot be bothered to use one of the methods mentioned above, then as far as I am concerned they do not deserve my vote.
bubbleParticipant
Have you tried ringing the police?
Thank you, but yes. As it’s not an emergency the police don’t attend until much later, after the smell has gone. I don’t think the police are bothered – it’s too small an issue for them. Bear in mind that they can’t seem to fix the drug problems in the bus station and in town, so they’re not interested in bothering with an issue confined to a block of flats.
bubbleParticipantI agree. Whist I still think these photos are an accurate depiction of what Wrexham is like, by using old photographs the Leader gives councillors the excuse that because these are old pictures, they are not representative of Wrexham today, that improvements have been made, etc.
I love the fact that business owners from the bus station have written to the First Minister asking for a reduction in their business rates because of the problems in the bus station, but a) I still don’t think the bus station drug problem will be fixed as a result and b) I think customers having to travel to/from the bus station should get a discount on their bus fares! However, I’m sure most of us would rather see the problem fixed rather than get discounts.

I say we all go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
I think that’s what our councillors are doing.
They oversaw the concentration of these services in one area, took the credit when these services opened, but now wring their hands and claim it’s out of their control when it comes to dealing with the problems this has caused. Whilst one councillor cannot be expected to represent the differing views of all in their constituency, surely one of their responsibilities is to consider the risks of their policies on all constituents (not just on those with substance abuse issues), and I think they have completely failed to do this, particularly in the Rhosddu/Grosvenor Road area.
I am a serial abstainer when it comes to voting – I make a point of attending the polling station but I spoil my ballot paper. I also have some principles when it comes to who I vote for (e.g. I won’t vote for UKIP). But in May I intend to actually vote for a candidate – and there is no way I will vote for the incumbent as I think our current councillors have let Wrexham down disgracefully.
bubbleParticipantOn the one hand I’m pleased that the police have been “shamed” into speaking to the press about this, but I expect that in reality the police and councillors will just wait for this to die down and continue their policy of token gestures when it comes to dealing with substance abuse in the bus station and in Rhosddu. I’ve no doubt they’re banking on today’s news being tomorrow’s chip-paper.
