Since when has Chester Argos been on the business park? There is one on the Greyhound Park, but there is also one in Foregate Stret, the Arriva No 1 stops right outside.

You are correct, it is illegal for other vehicles to stop at a bus stop. As I understand it the police can prosecute, whereas they can not for ordinary parking violations.

    Couple of issues here,
1, Have you check the soles of your shoes ? as you seem to get stuck a lot!
2, Believe you me, it IS the fault of the buses.
3, Should you really be talking your 15 week old son to school?
4, Or are you referring to you son as “a disability” Not very PC.
5, And are you so thin that you can fit in a bus stop?

Not very helpful comments. I have also been stuck in the bus station for a long time, it is cold, draughty, stinks of tobacco smoke. How can a bus be at fault? If anything it would be the driver, but how is he/she supposed to get through roadworks that cars cannot? Also it’s “your” son, not “you” son!!

The lights for Rough Hill changed to red twice whilst I was in about a 6 car queue. Appeared to be working on demand for the minor road.

Totally agree, they change far too frequently. The lights on the roundabout are also set wrong. They are green for too short a time. I know making them green longer will make them red for the traffic from the right, but that traffic is not queueing. It’s surely worth a try.

Phew. Thank goodness WE are all perfect or we’d all be in a right pickle.

We are obviously not all perfect, that’s why we make mistakes. I think the point of this thread is not about mistakes, it’s deliberate bad and dangerous driving. If someone goes in the wrong lane, through a red light, doesn’t indicate, drives with their fog lights on (which they must know is illegal), these are not mistakes, they are deliberate actions (or inactions). It is putting other peoples lives in danger.

Council figures for the cost of having the Coca Cola lorry are attached — it is astonishing that there was no charge for Queens Square as any other user are normally charged– https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/coca_cola?nocache=incoming-595044#incoming-595044
So much for the Council being shirt of cash when they could have put a charge against a multi million pound company that could have then gone to cover the costs of some of the other Christmas activities.

I would imagine the crowds coming in to town more than made up for any lost revenue. The car parks were full, and I presume shops and cafes probably did well out of it.

my niece parked on the home bargains car park she returned to her car and drove off,she was 11 minutes over the 2 hours allowed 1 week later she got a parking fine through the post for £50 if she didt pay it in a week i think it rises to £80 and so on just wanted to warn you all about this car-park you will be fined if you are over 2 hours

If she was over 2 hours in Home Bargains surely all she should have done was gone to see the manager of the store, I wouldn’t have thought any shop would want to kick you out if you were still shopping after 2 hours. I am sure the manager would have the authority to cancel the fine.

Or are shoplifters using new techniques to avoid detection- or are they picking on smaller shops who may not have stock records to show they have lost stock.
The other effect is that if it is down in the town centre have the moved out and the surrounding village shops are being hit instead. There must be a number of reasons as you would think it would increase with people affected by changes in benefits.

Just because people are on benefits it doesn’t automatically make them thieves.

A question to ask the Council representatives at the next Town Centre Forum would be how many of the people parking in the Peoples Market have a six month season ticket and how many are Council staff.
Also how many staff and Council Members are issued with FREE parking vouchers and the reason why the have this perk?
In addition a question needs to be asked about what discount if any do Council staff get on their car parking (they get discount on Waterworld gym fees?)

Very few Council staff get free or subsidised parking. The exact number could be found by submitting a Freedom of Information request.
