Unfortunately the people that deliver these courses aren’t up to date with a lot of stuff. Much of the Powerpoint presentation was prepared years ago and hasn’t been updated to account for the raising of speed limits on A roads and dual carriageways for HGVs for instance.

I got into an argument with one of them, a retired driving instructor in his late 70s, who insisted that the speed limit on ALL UK motorways was 70 mph. Anyone who’s travelled a bit will know that there are several stretches of motorway around the UK where the limit is set at either 50 or 60 mph and is very clearly signposted as such.

And a temp speed limit of 40 put in, according to my latest speed awareness course it is 30 along that stretch due to street lights!!So the limit has risen.

So, you’re saying then that all roads that have street lights are 30mph ? I think you should have paid a bit more attention at the Speed Awareness Course and you’ll have heard that it’s not JUST the presence of street lighting that determines a speed limit. Under normal circumstances that particular stretch of the A483 is limited to 50 mph.

Perhaps if people DID report these incidents to the Paramilitary Social Workers (Police) they MIGHT just do something about it before it has a negative effect on their reported crime figures.

Seems like a very halfhearted effort. None of the vehicles were burnt-out apparently, just damaged. I know it’s no concellation to the owners but it seems a strange turn of events.

Loads of places in Wales are unpronouncable. It’s because they use a bloody stupid made-up language.

I’m glad you think its acceptable to have mail delivered after 7pm.

    Yes, it’s very acceptable.

There are far more important things in life to worry about. For instance, will Morrison’s still have Raspberry Doughnuts at 2 packs for a £1 when I get there at 6.30pm.

Why go for one single colour? Several towns have taxis that are distinguished by their contrasting bodypanel colours. For instance Brighton’s are white with a light-blue bonnet, Leeds has taxis with black bodies and white bonnets and boots.

There’s nothing to stop you going for black cabs and a chequered black and white bonnet and/or other body panels, that can be easily applied using vinyl.
