“the police are the public and that the public are the police.
“The police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.” – Robert Peel

Unfortunately times have changed since Robert Peel. In his day the Police were a crime prevention force. Now, most of their time as taken up with crime detection and ‘engaging’ with a community that largely lost faith in it many years ago.
At the rear of Tesco’s is a car parking area that is only really used at for a few days of peak shopping at Christmas , for the rest of the year it is largely unused.
Good idea. But a number of ‘islands’ will have to be leveled in the car park to enable the coaches to manoeuvre. It’s possible that damage could be caused to the surfaces in the car park if the tarmac has only been laid to a level deep enough to accommodate the weight of cars and vans. Coaches weigh anything between 4 and 16 tonnes.

I don’t recall them shutting schools, or stopping the trains and buses because of a few inches of snow when I was a lad.

Well, the LLPD can’t be dealing with shoplifters AND iout’s crazy drivers.

Local Driving Standards, minimal police action.

Because there are already PSPOs in force that are totally ineffective ? Besides, ASBOs seem to be treated as a qualification instead of a punishment these days.
