R TKeymasterJust depersonalised a couple of the above posts removing a named individual after a request.
R TKeymasterIt is interesting that the political threads, the parking threads and this as a customer thread all about town centres have some common themes.
An internet levy would be good but hard to apply, and what to do with the cash? Business rates are still paid on empty buildings (after a short period of vacancy) so there is still revenue there, and personally I dont think subsidies should be made for those who are not adapting otherwise we would still have well stocked typewriter shops ;)
So called efficiency and aggregation is happening everywhere, but not all is good. For every time I no longer use VHS, nor write down directions or have to use a telephone directory – there are emails bouncing back, netflix not working and no 3G to load a map.
What can retailers and service providers offer that would make people come in to Wrexham ahead of hitting Amazon?
Likewise is Amazon the thing to be competing against?
R TKeymasterThats the lot for this Q&A!
As always we are thankful for the time put in to this from those who submitted questions, readers and of course the time and answers given from North Wales Police.
We aim to run these every month or two so if you missed out asking your question this time round dont forget to next – and as you can see we do ask everything put forward, and it does get answered…!
R TKeymasterMy second and the final question for this sessions is on the recent Legal Aid issues documented on Wrexham.com last week and the resulting ‘direct action’ by some in the legal profession locally.
Since the direct action started has it had any impact in any way at Wrexham police station, and if so, how?
R TKeymasterAs we come to the end of all, or variations of all, questions that have been submitted I will use the opportunity to add my own pair!
First is predictably about restrictions on fans travelling to and from football matches in a so called ‘bubble’. This season it is sounding likely that Wrexham’s fans could be restricted for Tranmere and Chester games along with (non bubble) police restrictions at a fellow fans owned club FC United in a preseason game.
The question is the likes of Manchester and Liverpool derbies, and even Millwall, do not get bubbled so what makes us such a uniquely terrible set of fans that requires such policing bearing in mind the scale of crowds involved?
R TKeymasterI have been passed a question about burglaries – enquiring how things are looking this year compared to last? I would imagine the other thing to ask on that is why and how things have changed…
R TKeymasterJust had one sent in from Nic saying: “Can you ask if there is any plans to do spot checks with the new drug and drive devise loads of people drive under the influence of cannabis in the early mornings?”
R TKeymasterIn the interests of completeness Adam and Paul both could not resist a hopefully comedy question asking “What’s the best way to kill someone and get away with it?” “How do I pull off the perfect heist?”
R TKeymasterDarryl (yeah that one!) asks “Over the last few weeks there have been an increase in patrols in the Hightown area – has there been a notable reduction in crime and incidents in that area since the increase of patrols? And has this had a knock on impact on crime in the surrounding areas?”
R TKeymasterL asks “Do you have any update on when you are starting to build in Llay and knock down the tower? Wasnt this meant to start in August?”
