ARC4 was paid nearly £17,000 to help the council draw up a strategy for the homeless.
Surely there is sufficient expertise available locally to successful achieve this without bringing in outside consultants. What did the Council get for their £17,000 ?

    Somebody else`s opinion.

The council can then claim to be fully engaged in dealing with the issue, by back healing it to a consultation that they will shove in a draw and ignore, while nobody has to stick their neck out by actually making a decision and doing something.

    The consultation is the action.

The report they did for Flintshire is available online. Wrexham’s doesn’t appear to be online.

JP is spot on – the Executive Board doesn’t need a Buck Stops Here attitude and accept culpable responsibility for anything as long as they can defer to ‘External Experts’ as having given the reason for any inaction or negative activities.

It’s a bit like a king consulting a soothsayer back in the olden days. We daren’t question the wisdom of the sacred ones their wisdom has been passed down from the Gods.

It’s exactly the same smoke & mirrors used with consultants. Trying to deflect away the reality of the decision making. Something ends up tits up – no problem just blame one set of consultants for the catastrophic failure and use another one next time – they’re a dime a dozen.

The worrying part of this attitude is the wasteful use of the limited money available. During exceptionally cold periods in mid winter the council opens special centres where the homeless can rest, eat and keep warm , imagine how many extra days this could be made available in the winter months for £17,000.

Another report that probably didn’t say what the Council wanted so binned into the pit of oblivion never to be seen again. Overall the question Wrexham.com or BBC should ask is over the past five years out of all the consultants report the Council have had produced how many of the recommendations from the ‘professionals’ (assuming they were brought in for there specific expertise) report have ever been implemented.

Why do they need consultants? They can have the use of Mrs Councillor X. She always tells me what I should be doing and they would only have to give her a bottle of sherry every couple of weeks

Go ahead Wrexham Council, waste even more of the publics money… You are employed by us the public to make decisions, if you can’t do that then leave and stop embracing yourselves.

How many of the ‘consukltants’ are actually ex Wrexham Council emplyees who have left/retired and then come back under the disguse of being a consultant.
