zingerParticipantHave you tried Jones chippy on St Georges Crescent? Not sure where to buy your donuts though.

MattParticipantMy kids got sent home today with a very urgent letter about getting set-up for the online learning portal Seesaw again, which was what we got sent shortly before all the schools closed in March. The letter stated in the event of needing to partially or fully close the school due to rising infections. So you wonder have headteachers been given a heads up about something, or are they just being cautious and prepared.

Cllr Hugh JonesParticipantThe latest figures today for Wrexham of 25 new cases puts us at 59.6 per 100,000 for 7 days which is the highest in North Wales this is why we need to act now

MP1953ParticipantI understand virtually all of the cases are connected to the college/university in the town, not surprised the way they are all together coming out of there.

zingerParticipantI did wonder if that was the case MP1953. We were very low until we heard that it was in the college. I wonder if they ever caught the student deliberately coughing in front of a lady in town.

MP1953ParticipantWhat I don’t understand is, they know where the new cases are coming from so why don’t they target the source ? the same can be probably said country wide or is it a case of not seem to be picking on a certain group.

MattParticipantHas anyone got a link to an official source that the new cases are all coming from the College / University?
There seems to be a certain level of disbelief and denial that ANYBODY (and I mean general members of the public) could possibly be spreading it, despite the fact that we’ve all been mixing freely for the past few months in ways that could easily cause person to person transmission.
If I told you I had a cold you’d easily believe I’d picked it up from just about anyone and I wouldn’t have a stigma and blamed and labelled irresponsible for catching the cold. Yet people seem to be unable to apply the same logic to something like Covid, which is just as highly transmissible and then are quick to label certain groups as irresponsible behaviour for spreading it, when they are just going about their everyday lives.
Students were basically told it was okay to come back to University, when clearly it’s not the case if the outbreaks are escalating there. They are expected to now do as they’re told and behave responsibly and adhere to lockdown type situations, yet at the same time when we’re told to behave responsibly and adhere to similar lockdown situations to prevent spread, people act exasperated.
None of it makes any sense and people putting personal liberties before collective responsibility from all corners of society is why we are going to end up living restrictive lives for much of the rest of this year and probably into 2021.
No-one is saying don’t go out and work to earn a living or go and shop to get what you need and visit people who need support, but people doing these everyday mundane and responsible activities are still going to catch Covid and are still going to risk spreading it, just as much as those we can easily point the finger at.

JaneJParticipantLet us hope that some of these cases are not coming from people catching Covid whilst in hospital..
Why have schools not been referenced – how much socialising goes on with parents outside primary school gates- most schools still have quite large number of parents after the children have gone into their classrooms.
What about those people who have been going around the town and supermarkets without masks – not only putting themselves at risk but also all those around them.
To the non believers we have a crisis how many cases do we need to get to before YOU start to realise what a serious position we can find ourselves in if contrails are not in place.October 1, 2020 at 9:37 pm #193886
zingerParticipantLL13 risk is now high. I read on Leaderlive the a staff member at Rhosnesni High has the virus but the children don’t need to isolate.
