Surprised to see that Wrexham Tesco store will be open every Sunday from July 22nd until 9th September for 24 hours . A relaxation of Sunday trading laws as we have the Olympic Games in London being used here! Will others follow?
We chased this up with the council – it seems only two have told the council they are doing it so far and Tesco was not one of them!

Wrexham seems to be starting to embrace the Olympics, New Wave in Charles Street have hung a flag of the Olympic rings in their window and the Lesotho national flag is flying over Glyndwr as their Olympic team are staying in town.
Royal Mail are to change the colour of its post boxes for the first time, from red to gold.One box will be painted gold for each gold medal won by Team GB. One box will be chosen in a location related to the winning althlete. Here in Wrexham hopefully we will see a gold post box, if rower Tom James makes it two in a row!!

If they have the Olympic flag up Wrexham trading standards will be along shortly to tell them to remove as they are not authorised to show it unless they have sponsorship permission from the LOGOG lot. Ridiculous isn’t it!
Is that the same Royal Mail that have been pleading poverty and have substantially increased the price of postage just recently ?
