I appear to have lost the side bar with Twitter comments, any one know why?

They are still on the front page at the moment, and hopefully will return to forums and article pages as well.

We are fiddling with bits todo with twitter – basically twitter used to allow a plain text version of feeds which was dead easy to intergrate, but then moved to one requiring various levels of security. Or, a simple widget – which we used.

The problem with the widget was it was a frame inside the site itself, so makes some devices harder to view the site.

What we have done over the last week with a little free time (!) is to basically rebuild twitter using the raw output (php oauth json’ed output rebuilt to a text file include for those who care!) and thus will be showing a ‘solid’ version of our twitter feed.

Its now a case of tweaking the display to make it fit with the site.

Either way – keep an eye on it as will be at the guildhall later live tweeting :)

    Ha sorry!

Basically twitter was dead good, then locked everything down which made things a tad rubbish. To get it back where it was takes a fair bit of code and effort, which we are doing now.

Hopefully will mean our twitter stuff is more flexible and open to more people :)

It will also make it easier for us to archive tweets , such as in todays Plas Madoc report – Reprieve For Plas Madoc As Closure To Be Reviewed | Wrexham.com

These are now back properly on the homepage, and on every article page as well.

They have not returned to the forum pages yet as unsure where to pop them ! We might just do one and a link to the new archive page which shows the last 500 (!) of them.

The archive can be found here https://www.wrexham.com/twitterarchive/ – but is every 15mins, whereas the frontpage / article page sidebars are live (give or take a few seconds!)

Hope this helps – and we have had quite a few get in touch asking for them back too which is nice :)
