We have had Polish people living in the Wrexham area since the war though not in the numbers of recent years. I must be in the 90% bracket as I can’t tell one Slavic language from the next.

Back to the subject. The snow is clearing well but the thaw is making the pavements a bit slippy. Our estate was been cleared ahead of the binmen so we can now travel easier. Let’s hope it doesn’t freeze as the slush with be lethal if it does.

Just seen on tv that the Jet stream is stuck south of the UK and is due to move north over the next 21 days, which means we are stuck in this rut of cold weather for at least another 3 weeks.

Yeah, then when the jet stream moves North we ‘ll have 10 weeks of constant rain, why is it the jet stream is never where it is now in July and August ?

If the jet stream did stay motionless during the summer months we would be suffering from burns. As with the snow we are not geared up for extremes in weather!

True, many countries are better prepared than us for extreme weather.

The fact that this snow is still here nine days after it fell is testament to how bad it has been. The slow thaw may have prevented some flooding but is causing property damage, guttering and conservatories are especially vulnerable. There are also some magnificent icicles out there, take care and don’t stand under them !!

Just got in from Mold market, they’ve had it very bad there too, they’re still busy trying to clear the streets and pavements.
