So Ty Pawb us already going to be two their– “Official” opening will be Thursday 29th March yet public celebration is on Monday.
More expense- why do they need two events, why can’t the opening be on the Monday as part of the “Every Body’s Monday- “Dydd Llyn Pawb”. https://www.facebook.com/events/151146875590942/

Come and celebrate the Grand Opening on the 2nd provided you are not a Councillor, Council Officer, AM, MP, signatories from Arts Council etc you come on the 29th. Looks like the Council clearly still don’t want to engage with the public or face anyone who may be critical.

This split event does not bode well for the future of community engagement.

I wonder if press are invited to the 29th event? Will be an interesting one to see all the politico in there. Obviously Ian Lucas has provided strong criticism against the council for their cuts against the Wrexham school music budget and then establishing Ty Pawb:

A view endorsed by the whole of the local Labour Party. Sure to be a very prickly reception with lots of back-patting between the likes of Clrs Pritchard, Atkinson and the mayor et al…but then all other town leaders feeling somewhat awkward about the whole thing.

It should have opened on 1st April, but changed to 2nd April. The reason for the change being the advert, come and enjoy how we spent 4 1/2 million on a white elephant. If the opening date was 1st April with that advert, people would have thought it an April Fool joke and not turned up.

Why is it that this scheme seems to have an ‘open chequebook’ policy whilst everything else is being cut here there and everywhere oh sorry except for free parking for the privileged (a perk in this time of cuts) but this is Wrexham council with its two fingers to the council tax payers and let us not forget that at the end of the day this is a vanity project after all.

Has everyone forgotten the 2003 Theatre misadventure?

    Wrexham theatre plans abandoned
It is highly unlikely that a theatre will now be built in Wrexham
Plans for a new theatre and conference centre in Wrexham have been abandoned after councillors voted against going ahead with the multi-million pound scheme.
They decided to scrap the project because the costs were mounting and it was unpopular with locals.

The motion – which was carried by 24 votes to 18 – was made “in view of the real concerns expressed by the public”.

All those who have expressed a view so far you are lucky because in a short while your voice will be censored by Wrexham.com and it will be merged (and lost) supposedly under the Ty Pawb mega thread. The ‘elite’ will have the opening on 29th March to avoid any public demonstration against this project. The Council have gone quiet regarding progress or lack of it. Perhaps Ty Pawb will open on 29th and Close on the 2nd April under the guise of Health and Safety, i.e. Not allowing a White Elephant in town which be a great risk to the pockets of the constituents.

So,are the public being stopped from entering Ty pawb on Thursday 29 th of March? Because my understanding is that it will be open from Monday 26th. I have been told that traders are moving in there on Sunday 25th.

This in 2003 when there were no cut backs as we know them today.

In 2015 when Ty Pawb arose and austerity in full swing our Councillors vote it through. It beggars belief.

The 10 Labour defectors occurred just a month later on 3rd September & they were not acting in the best interests of Labour & their voters for months before. Anyone who was part of the Save Plas Madoc Group considered them dead ducks from the beginning of that year, seeing as genuine Welsh Labour got behind trying to save the leisure centre back in Feb 14 and were trying to plan takeover bids and alternatives to closure alongside the local community. All met with continuous resistance from the Faux Labour 10.

If they weren’t steering the town in the right direction re: Leisure Centres I have absolutely no confidence in any of their other decision making whilst posing as Labour.

Whatever way you look at it, shame on the Labour Party for allowing such individuals to go under their banner & hoodwink the general public the full lay to blame will be with the current establishment if it all goes wrong.

Except of course all the delusionals who still think the council is Labour ran, they’ll just blame them anyway.
