jimbowParticipantIt is good to see the first visitor coach to Wrexham Town Centre. The problem now is to get the Council to open the Butchers Market all day on a Wednesday. The markets are advertised on the flyers, and as such should be open on every trading day. This morning in the Butchers Market there were at least three or four stalls closed. The tenants of the Council owned property should be made aware, that if they are not prepared to help themselves, there is little else that the Council can do.The bus park is outside the Butchers Market, let us at least try to make a good impression by being open.

Quite agree Jim.
As a former trader within the Market network, you are well positioned to make this comment. I would add that there are also other things that the trading fraternity could directly do to advance their interests
Ensure that in an increasingly cashless society, they can take Debit and Credit cards
Ensure that the Markets abandon the Covenant system so that there are a range of competing stalls
Ensure that the stalls and shops open at an agreed time and close collectively at an agreed time
There is nothing worse than visiting a Town and finding that a large part of a facility has closed down, has limited offer or cannot accept a punter’s money

DRParticipantCoach parking was first raised in the forums back in August of last year. Would be great / interesting to see if it works, seeing as it’s been a Town Centre Forum regular for several months now.
Curious to see if there will be any mention of how many companies have shown an interest in the coach parking in the next Town Centre Forum. Or any comments on how the first one went!
More info on new the town centre drop-off / pick-up point is due to be released in the next week or so.

LiamParticipantJust seen this quote in today’s Leader from Kevin Critchley of Eagles Meadow. Not sure it’s the businesses I was hoping the coach stop would benefit.
“A coachload of 26 Taiwanese people were waving £50 notes around and they spent their money in our shops,” he said.
“They bought a lot from JD Sports and then they went over to Poundworld. It was great.
“If 26 people all spend £50, that’s £1,300 we didn’t have before.”

wrexviewParticipantHopefully as it grows everyone will benefit. It is extra money being spent in the town and extra people walking the streets, long may it continue flourish!

I think maybe I’m just being a bit idealistic, but yes it is a positive thing and can only benefit the town.
