‘Plan to extend a substance misuse center in Wrexham to allow for the collocation of services have been refused’

Wouldn’t it be better and make sense if the complete facility/service was relocated to the Maelor Hospital. The new buildings on the oppo side to the main hospital must have some spare accommodation somewhere? Parking for clients shouldn’t be an issue as most of them don’t or can’t drive and it would take some pressure off Rhosddu.

If not relocate to the old Groves building – there is plenty of parking, its familiar for clients and full of old needles anyway or is it too open for the dealers or just too near to Park Avenue?

Another poorly thought through idea, cluster services around Grosvenor Road. You have Richmond House , St John’s House, Arch initiative and The Elms all near each other for easy access by their clients. On another part of Grosvenor Road there are two new developments of flats designed for over 55 year olds, most of whom will be looking for a safe secure living environment. What made the planning committee think this was a good idea?

The Elms have been providing a comprehensive service to its clients for years, it was only the proposed alterations that were refused planning. The refusal may well lead to the services provided by the Elms being moved but it is still open at present.
