    And all of this on top of what are probably the two busiest roundabouts in Wrexham, with cars constantly accelerating and braking and hence causing more pollution than those tootling along at a constant speed on the bypass. Yep slow, slow clap for the Welsh government

    If the traffic at 6am this morning is anything to go by not many people will be sticking to the new limit.

    Came down the slip road off Mold Road this morning at 50mph. Everyone was flying past me, soon had to speed up to keep pace.

    Word on the grapevine is that few people are actually adhering to the limit & those reportedly being good eggs & sticking to the speed limit have been subjected to aggressive overtakes even from lorries & also subjected to road rage for not keeping up with the average pace of the road. It’s either sheer ignorance or defiance to South Wales.

    Fact of the matter is until they start cracking down on people – it will be treated as advisory. Too many times a 50mph temporary speed limit has been put up on that exact stretch due to roadworks and it’s been duly ignored. So people are treating it the same this time.

    Yep, merging at 50 when everyone else is doing 70 doesn’t work. Fact is nobody sticks to speed limits unless there are speed cameras of some description, always has been this way and always will be. (I’m not saying that’s right of course).

    And sometimes people ignore 40/50mph roadworks signs because they’re kept up when no work is taking place. People therefore judge (rightly or wongly ) that there is no risk.

    The below was tweeted by someone, I don’t really get this, when I learnt to drive I was taught that it was the responsibility of the vehicle joining a carriage way to adjust their speed as to getting onto the carriage way, these days it seems cars joining the carriage way expect vehicles to move over, of which many times they can’t if there is traffic on the outside lane, has the highway code been changed now ?

    @wrexham
    the junction 5 sliproad on the a483 is literally an accident waiting to happen. people are unaware of the 50mph limit and are literally speeding onto the carriageway with total neglect for the drivers already on it.

    Most traffic now seems to be observing the 50 limit so happy days.
