Wrecsam_ladParticipantAll residents on our street were served notice by Royal mail yesterday that mail deliveries have been suspended due to an attack by a dog or dogs. The first attack was way back on the 6th of August and there have been more since.
So after a health and safety review services have been stopped and Royal mail are talking to the council, the dog warden service and the police. What I can’t understand is why nothing was done after the first incident and the dog or dogs have not been picked up by the dog warden.
The dogs were roaming yesterday, no sign of the warden or police even though they know there is a problem.
Going to the sorting office is not convenient for the many O.A.P’s on the street as there is no parking there.Any Wrexham dot commers ever had this problem..

RobertParticipantPut simply.
Your mail is safe.
Dog control is not the Royal Mail’s problem – safety of their employees is.
Apply pressure to those whose responsibility it is: The owners and the Council.
– As an aside, when you see the dogs roaming, call the Dog Warden, they need to know! And keep calling them. When it is safe to do so your mail service will resume.
I do not speak for the Royal Mail in any capacity other than former employee.

I understand that the Royal Mail employees safety is paramount, but I feel we are all being punished for someone else’s crime.
Why can’t they just deliver the mail to the local post office?
There are a lot of residents over 80 yrs old and most are disabled and as you can’t park at the sorting office they have a problem collecting their mail.In the letter from the Royal Male that they delivered it says to take a driving licence or passport as ID non of which I have, so how do I get my mail? All my utility bills are paid by direct debit I stopped all paper bills and such..

missmarpleParticipantThe staff at the sorting office have accepted my debit card as proof of identity when I’ve been to collect undelivered items.

Neighbour went to the sorting office this morning to pick up her mail and was told to call back as the postman had taken it out for delivery by mistake but would not be allowed to deliver :( .
When she got home the post had been delivered  .
Another neighbour asked the postie if deliveries had resumed and he replied “I brought it out by mistake and thought well as I have it I may as well deliver it, but it’s the last time until the situation is sorted ….. :(

Didn’t have a problem on Saturday collecting, just showed the guy an old mobile phone bill about 3 years old…
