Wrexham.com will be hosting another question and answer session tomorrow (Friday 10th November) with North Wales Police – this time with Town Centre Inspector Paul Wycherley and Wrexham Rural Inspector Steve Owens.

Previously the webchats have focused on town centre issues, so if there are any crime questions about any rural areas in Wrexham, feel free to ask!

You can leave any questions you’d like answered below, tweet them to @wrexham or email [email protected] (they can be anonymously asked!)

Questions will be answered on this forum thread between 2pm and 4pm tomorrow and can also be submitted during the two hour period :)

Could you talk about the reports in mid October about Police spending 2 hours at Brymbo Cricket Club dealing with a group of bored youths? This makes you look very weak and sounds like a waste of valuable resources and taxpayers’ money

Police spend two hours in Brymbo dealing with large group of bored youths – some as young as 12

Can you start to use a zero tolerance approach even with the youngsters & get their parents to take responsibility for them? If bad behaviour is nipped in the bud hopefully it won’t escalate!!

Doesn’t Wrexham Council’s proposals to reduce PCSO funding seem like a very bad idea?

Why are people being allowed to openly drink alcohol and take drugs in Wrexham Town Centre despite there being a PSPO in force? Why is this not being effectively enforced by yourselves?

Why are the police not doing anything about the druggies & alchies begging in the town, especially at the weekends. Its quite intimidating when you want to use the cash points & there are druggies sitting at the side of them either asking for money or holding signs up.It has really got bad in the high st this last few months.More & more beggars. Then later on you see them smashed out of there heads. It needs sorting it’s a disgrace.

What will actual Police services be available in the new Police Station at the Libray? Will it be open access to the Public 24/7?

    Underway now…

There are ongoing issues in Wrexham North in a number of areas. The local Safer Neighbourhood Team, which are predominately PCSOs are tasked with addressing those issues.

Depending on the situation it is not a case of enforcement, engagement is an option. If it is low level ASB it is about education, speaking to the children as well and making them understand their impact on the community.

There is a dispersal order in place for Wrexham North this weekend, not specific to Brymbo.

If we do not have to criminalise people for minor behaviour we wont. It is not just a police issue, we are in discussion with Cllr Paul Rogers about lack of provision for young people , in Wrexham North in particular.

Just to be clear I (rob) am typing up the verbal replies – so any errors, typos and omissions are me not the Inspectors.

They are looking at your questions, and enjoying a cuppa as well!

Question from a local business – “Going into winter months and nearly a year since the mamba scandal, are you happy with the progress made at the bus station to reduce a repeat of last year?’
