The highways department of Wrexham County Borough Council needs to do something with the stretch of the A525 Ruthin Road between Bradley Road and Ruabon Road.
At one time, cars only seemed to park on one side which wasn’t too bad.
But now cars are parking on both sides making it impossible to drive down almost if you encounter another vehicle travelling the opposite direction.

I’ve always felt that the pavement could be made just a little bit narrower on both sides and make road parking available just on one side of the road and make it prohibited on the other side to make it still comfortably wide both for pedestrians to use the pavement and for vehicles passing each to to still be able to do so comfortable and safely without touching wing mirrors or scraping against parked vehicles or endangering pedestrians because considering it is an ‘A’ road, it is one of the most impassable A roads I’ve ever driven down.

I shall be contacting them in the next few days as to if they have a response on what I think about this road but also interested in hearing your views too if you have had the same problems and how you would improve this road too.

    Thanks.

I started a Thread about this in January, apparently they are going to start a trial by making it one way, don’t now when.

    Hi.
Just seen it now. Some good ideas in it. Hopefully like others also mentioned they will opt to just make it parking allowed on one side only. What I don’t see the point of though on that road is that there are short lengths of double yellow lines on both sides of the road that only seem to be about 2-3 metres long for what seems to be no point why that was ever done.

This was discussed at the Bellevue Park Residents Group meeting on Thursday and the consensus view was to go with WCBC’s trial one-way system [from the traffic-lights in the direction of Penybryn], whilst retaining parking spaces on both sides of the road.

Losing any parking spaces will only lead to more commuters parking their vehicles in the side streets in the area.

The trial was meant to start at the end of February but because of recent road-works on Ruabon Rd the start date has been put back until the end of April.

If the trial works then it will be made permanent but if it creates greater problems elsewhere on the local road-network then we will have to go back to the drawing-board.

Couldn’t they just open up a piece of that waste ground next to Victoria School and a bit of tarmac?

The ‘waste’ land you refer to was in fact a burial ground — all of the bodies are still there and the gravestones moved to around the edges

Making the road one way will cause huge tailbacks between the Fairy Road Roundabout and the Belle Vue Traffic lights and also on Ruabon Road towards Pen Y Bryn simply because anyone from the Pen Y Bryn area who needs to get to Coedpoeth etc will not be able to turn right or left, this will also lead to congestion on the likes of Poyser Street etc. The queues at those lights are bad enough now since the roundabout was replaced with lights so the whole area will become a total gridlock zone

Crazy idea just like turning rhosddu bridge one way and we all saw the chaos that caused.

Easiest solution is double yellow all along one way, I dont see why everybody should suffer because of a few people who dont want to pay for parking in the town.

Dreadful idea just like replacing the roundabout with traffic lights on ruthin road.
