The pictures and video this evening via Facebook of the said Car Park are pretty shocking.
You actually pay to park here! It’s run by Britannia Parking. So, where and when does Wrexham Council get involved?
Patrons have to use the stairs. Instead of scaling down the walls. Though that might be the safer option. They are met by needles, drug paraphernalia, human waste etc etc

Would you park here? Take your family? Go shopping in the Town?

For those with FB the link is here:_

There seem to be three options with this situation-
    1. Boycott the car park- loss of revenue will either make the operator do something or close (they are only on a short term rent)
    2. Send images to Lord Grosvenor on Chester as the property is part of his portfolio
    3. Wrexham Council clean up and send the bill to the Landlord

That deals with current issues – going forward there should be security, both guards and CCTV to ensure that relevant offenders do not visit.

Boycott the place as you say, but why blame the Council? Its a private car park!

The Council as the Enforcement Body for Public Safety can serve an enforcement notice on the Landlord to get the place clean – a refusal should lead to the Council arranging for the area to be cleaned and then bill the Landlord. This should not be a cost to the Council or Ratepayers of Wrexham.

There used to be an attendant there right at the entrance. Is he or she gone now ?

I’ve parked in there weekly for the last few years. It was going downhill before the last closure, but now its really poor. The machines won’t take card payments today, the place is dirty, light fittings are hanging down on their wires, lagged pipes have been ripped open, bins are overflowing. I did not see any supervisors or security. It’s a shame, as it’s in a really convenient location and unlike Island Green, you don’t need to take out a loan to meet the daily parking fees!

I’d have thought that on the grounds of health and safety a multi-storey car park would be obliged to have 24-hour security, or at least an attendant?
In March 2017 one individual decided to sit on the ledge of the top floor in an apparent ‘cry for help’ due to his addictions. As the video shows, individuals are presumably injecting drugs and drinking. That doesn’t bode well for a multi-storey?
It’s not good for commerce in the town either. If you’re discouraged from taking the bus into town because of the much-publicised problems at the Bus Station, but instead decide to use that car park, after being met by that disgusting mess, you’re going to shop elsewhere. Chester, Broughton, Shrewsbury etc.
