I’ve said it on other forums, in Britain and in Wales in particular people treat politics like a religion. ‘Our family have always been Labour…’ It’s the blind belief of a religion not the reasoned debate of politics.

Mrs Crewe, and I say this without any sense of irony, you are a breath of fresh air on this forum, you really are.

The First Minister Of Wales, Carwen Jones believes there is no appetite among the public for more Assembly Members.

A key role of government is to be able to promote trade to generate money to pay for public services. Wales is to small to play on the world stage, as a nation we therefore focus inwardly rather than outwards. This has to change

Financial irregularities aside, Wales punched way above it’s weight when the Welsh Development Agency existed under Dr Gwyn Jones.

A key to the success of the WDA was that the leadership and Board generally were from the business sector who fully understood the needs of the business sector an developed schemes that could be understood. Placing business support within the WG and Local Authorities is flawed right from the outset as it is treated as a Civil Service rather than a Business support service.

There is something very bizarre when you talk to the various departments and people in the Council. You start to wonder if anyone really knows what’s going on, and whether it’s so large and so inward looking that it forgets why it’s there
