This same thing happened to us in the Brynteg area a few years ago. I was covered in scarlet coloured specks which at first sight looked like blood. Fortunately it wasn’t blood, it was paint which had flaked off the inside of the van caused by the deep indentation about six inches above the window. The shock wasn’t any the less.

Shocking behaviour, just hope the police catch them and punish them severely.

Problem is, is that they won’t be punished severely. Just a slap on the wrists and don’t do it again.

The main problem is that there is an element of society who do not know or care about the consequences of their actions. Incidents such as these are treated as ‘fun’, but it isn’t much fun if one of the drivers loses control of his/her car and possibly kills someone or gets seriously injured.

Wrecsam-Lad states correctly that the punishment for this type of activity seldom sufficient to deter others or to deter further offences.

We said that the outcome would have had much more serious consequences if it had been a bus or a wagon with windows a few inches higher than ours. A summer evening with windows open. They wouldn’t have stood a chance. The police weren’t interested. They didn’t even search for the perpetrators.

It appears this also occurred in Bradley not just New Broughton, Tan y Fron and Coedpoeth.

Police statement this morning said it may have been a pellet gun.

Now they say: ‘“Despite some media reports, there is no evidence to suggest an air gun was used.’

    Make up your minds NWP.
