It has come to light that there have been rumours floating about the RAFA club on Ruthin Road, Wrexham.
Well, I can announce today what the future holds for the club.
The ground floor ballroom is to be refurbished and will be opening as an Indian buffet restaurant. This will happen in the coming months and the restaurant should be open for business in May.
The club itself is still open to everyone, we are taking bookings for parties of 70 or less whether it’s for birthdays, anniversary’s, funerals etc.
It is open for everyone, it’s not a members only club however we do ask
after 3 visits a small joining fee.
There is live football matches on the big screen tv, snooker room and pool room. All run by the best club manager anywhere, Anne Marie Ruscoe.
So, in all we have a big future for the club and I hope this dispels any rumours people may have heard.

Contracts have now been signed, I believe the Indian restaurant will be open late June. Refurbishment will start late April then open in time for summer.
Meanwhile the club is open to all, and are taking bookings for parties etc.

To some extent yes, but times have changed. There are two big events taking place including tv’s Colin Fry.
But most parties these days consist of between 30 and 70 people and the ballroom is far too big for that now.
The changes will ensure that the club caries on and build on a profitable future.
What the Rafa club really needs is new members, a darts team, a pool team and a snooker team. For that to happen they need young people to use the club.
Marie does a marvelous job, she makes everyone very welcome there.
