Have you noticed the amount of new potholes around town since the last snowfall? They’re everywhere, it’s a job to try and miss them and avoid damaging the cars tyres.
It’ll take a lot of time and money to fill them in over the summer months.
There’s a few roads (B5426 near Gyfeilia, B5097 near Rhostyllen) that have been dug up for resurfacing but they only did patches and missed half of the potholes. Similar story on New Hall Road in Ruabon which was done last year.
In February when the weather was quite mild (for a change) they filled in some potholes on the Llay road into town in the Rhosddu area. But just with tar. Within a week or so the holes were there again. So it is false economy to just do a bodge job on them.
The Chester Road was resurfaced completely for the first time in over 30 years in 2005 and yet it is very badly eroded and potholed in many places. The quality of the work must be questioned, surely the surface should not be wearing out so quickly.
Yes, it’s like as if once one lot has finished another lot come along and dig the road up again. It would be nice to go a full year without road works, but I guess that will never happen.
The traffic lights on the Ruthin road/Victoria road are terrible. A roundabout would definitely benefit traffic from all directions.
