The Planning Inspectorate has begun its consideration of the planning appeal lodged in relation to the decision of Wrexham County Borough Council Planning Committee to refuse planning permission for a 365 home development on land adjoining Gresford Road in Llay. Documents submitted by the appellant’s agent in support of the appeal can be viewed at:

Interested parties have until 27 Jun 2016 to submit comments on the case to The Planning Inspectorate.

The planning appeal is to be held at the Guildhall Wrexham starting on the 22nd November 2016 and could last up to 4 days. The architect stated at the beginning of all this that they would not have tried to get this approved if Wrexham Council had a LDP in place. After we got it stopped at the Planning Committee meeting he then stated that they had no plans to appeal, this goes to show what a liar he is as it now seems that he is one of the main backers for the application. The other backer is a firm called “McClements and McClements Ltd” These are the same McClements that set up a company called Mifest Ltd and tried to put on a 3 day music festival on the same land and were stopped when the Welsh Ambulance Services and North Wales Police pulled out stating that it was a unsafe event. The reason we agreed that they used (so that they could save face) was that the land was waterlogged and unsafe to put cars on it for 3 days. While this was true it was not the main reasons as stated above.
The Planning Committee threw this out without a vote in its favour as it was outside the settlement limits for the village. The schools in the area are over subscribed as are the Doctors. The roads are already gridlocked at peak times and in the next two years the new Police Headquarters will be sited in Llay.

Let’s not forget you are a newby to this village. You live in a house that was a new build. You should stop telling the people of llay that were born here what’s right for our village. You DO NOT speak for the people you are just a big mouth.
