Mr Laverty tweeted “How many non white officers are in the force around Wrexham? Do Wxm police officers attend Polish language lessons? If not why not?”

[quote quote=102007]One from Facebook: “When exactly do they plan on solving actual crimes like burglaries instead of sitting in the comfy little cash cow AKA arrive alive vans?”

I have been to many scenes when lives have been ruined by speeding motorists so our opinions of the vans is different. I have commented on our burglary reduction performance earlier.

Two final submissions, but only one question really…

Rob-Trav said :Just say they are doing a great job!”

and we had a fitness Q emailed in: “Have you any update on the timeline for moving into the new town centre police station? we have seen the drawings include a gym, will all officers be forced to,use it ? Will the Llay Police Station also have a gym? Will we become a two police gym town !”

There are very few non white officers in this area and we are keen to attract more in order to truly represent our communities.
With regard to Polish spaeaking officers we have one officer who is fluent. We are not currently training others as the demand for Polish speaking officers at this time is not there. We have a contract with a company who are available 24/7 who we can connect to via officers personal radio sets so that interpreting facilities are availble at scene if needed.

Whoever said we are doing a great job – sincere thanks – we are trying hard, honest!

The new town centre police station will start build in January 2016. We exoect to move into it in mid 2017. It has a gym as you point out – albeit very small, and there is a further gym in the new build at Llay. These are just gymnasiums – not spas or leisure centres ie there are no saunas ect!
It is imnportant that officers are physically fit and officers who contribute each month to the sports and social committee will be able to use them.

Thanks for taking the time to take part, both to our readers and NWP! we will make sure you get Wrexham.com mugs to replace the current rubbish used.

As above there will be another web chat like this in a few months, so if you dont think your question was answered or have a specific query dont pass up the opportunity to take part!

Thanks for the open responses to my questions.

The issue of drug/alcohol service users being actively transported to Wrexham from other areas is something that perhaps many members of the public as well as struggling business owners may not be aware of.

Perhaps this is topic that The Leader and/or Wrexham.com would be able to investigate further..?

hope that answers your questions comprehensively, if not come and see me in the police station and I will discuss further.

    J P Wycherley Inspector.

Adam – you must admit that is an offer that you may not get from other Police Forces

Not a specific webchat Q but Steph asked via twitter “Has anyone else noticed to sudden lack of benches in Rhosddu today?” and thought would pop it here to see if the 5-0 knew what was going down in Rhosddu?

These have been removed by the Council following repeated reports of them being used primarily by persons who are causing anti social behaviour”

The bench outside the Citizens Adcice Centre on Grosvenor Road has been removed but as predicted those people who used it for anti social behaviour have crossed over the roundabout and settled on the bench in Grove Road by the gate entrance to the Carlton Grange housing association flats. The residents will now have to walk past them to get access to their homes. The problem IS being moved around the town rather than addressing it directly!
