It would be nice if Wrexham council or Welsh office would give a discount to private home owners for solid wall external insulation.

As my house was built in 1900 it’s so cold in the winter & most of the year.

This grant is for non traditional housing built after the war to fill the housing shortage. Solid brick walls are a very traditional way of building.

There have been grants available to everyone for insulation in the past but the latest big scheme is this one which is a loan: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/green-deal

If you’re claiming a means tested benefit I think there are grants available (rather than loans). Energy companies also offer insulation in some cases.
