The new data went online over the weekend, with all but the Met Police’s available.

We have written an overview of the data – based off a 1 mile radius from the town centre.

You can compare to historic data, as well as more current.

Post up in this thread what you have spotted, good, bad or just interesting!

The figures seem to be down on last year which is good but there seem to be couple of hotspots which i plan on avoiding if i can.

In terms of comparing or accessing?

For the latter hit Police.uk – Local crime, policing and criminal justice information for England and Wales and you can check any area / address, although there are issues with the met police data.

If you mean comparisons – we are trying to figure out a couple of areas in terms of size / demographic make up that we can compare to but its quite hard as its not a direct compare.

Also one or two crimes can skew stats – such as in Town Centre Crime “Down 9.2%” | Wrexham.com .

The other issue is that it doesnt show if its day / night crime, as Brook St is shoppers walking etc right now (1pm ish) however make that 1am on a Friday night and things would be very different!

I will feed this back to the police, however its a national system so more a rubbish way of displaying / releasing data than actual no go areas or current data telling whole story.
