There used to be a Polish deli on Yorke street in the 60’s. Can’t understand why people wouldn’t use a Polish shop, lovely cured meats!
As for the rumours about the Hightown Portuguese café not serving not Portuguese customers. Pure racist cobblers.

As I mentioned about the Portuguese café, it was proven wrong, someone is trying to cause problems.

What next? An English shop that only serves English people?

There are already a lot of Polish supermarkets in town so why the shock when another turns up? A significant part of the population are foreigners and that’s even excluding our English friends.

I wonder if they have Welsh Supermarkets in Poland ………………

Ha! What on earth would a Welsh Supermarket even sell?

There are some great Welsh food products available in a variety of shops and supermarkets plus beers, whiskey. lamb etc. There is probably little value in having a separate Welsh food shop other than those in visitor centres etc were the products are seen as specialist and unfortunately command premium prices.
Good old Welsh Cakes made by Village Bakery available across the whole area.

    I’ve always liked the Poles.
Generally, they’re hard working, honest, polite and don’t try to enforce their culture above that of the indigenous population.
As an aside, the highest scoring RAF squadron in the battle of Britain was No. 303 (Polish) Fighter Squadron.
They’re absolutely welcome here as far as I’m concerned.
