New Parking Machines

I visited the library carpark today and used the lovely new machine. I’m just wondering what will happen when the new £1 coins are introduced? Are the machines obsolete already or are they ready for the changeover? It is good that card payments are accepted.

You stupid woman [or man] do you really think WCBC have not future proofed these new expensive ‘lovely machines’. By the time the old £1 coins are phased out the minimum parking charge will be raised to £2! Or they will attached a little metal file to each machine to file off the edges of the new one to make it round again! Simples!

The company supplying the machines would have pointed out that the new pound coin would be introduced in March 2017. The machines are bound to take the new coins.
