Women make up 50% of the population but only one woman on the new Executive Board, Joan Lowe. Some new blood on the Board but same Leader. Time will tell if new Councillors and those new faces on the Executive Board will have any real influence on the way the Council is run . Not a good start when only 39 turn up to install new Mayor and some miss the first meeting. If you can’t make the meetings why stand for the Council ?

Education is vital and needs root and branch improvement in Wrexham. The Chief Executive comes from an education background but hasn’t been able to implement improvement. Lead member for education is a very important role I hope who ever gets the role has a strategy and desire to make Wrexham schools league toppers!

It is strange that they have not announced the names of the Lead Members– surely Cllr Pritchard as the ‘manager’ of the ruling Groups should have undertaken a skills audit of ALL Councillors before selecting his Executive- shouldn’t skill/knowledge match to service areas be the fundamental. It now looks like there has been selection by favouritism regardless of skills and knowledge and the 10 will be shoe horned into roles.

99Dylan, perhaps you could give us the full lead members list, as you seem to know all about it??

Perhaps the Executive Board members were chosen before decisions were made about responsibilities. Maybe there is a reluctance by some to pick up particular jobs.

It seems that schemes and decisions have already been made behind closed doors by Pritchard and his shadow Hugh Jones.
We had major failings with the previous administration and it seems that they have not been taken in account but who knows what could happen in the days and months to come but I would say do not hold your breath.
The open door policy and transparency we did not have with the previous council I think will continue and I can say that democracy is now well and truly dead in Wrexham and the new Executive Board will be controlled by North Wale’s answer to Donald Trump so all the other councillors might as well stay at home as it will be carry on regardless.

Going by conversations this morning it appears formal notifications have not been sent out, or not to all, as of yet.

The Election was weeks ago, so either inefficient or discussions ongoing !
