Does Arfon Jones seriously think it is right for these people that take ILLEGAL drugs to have a place of their own to take their fixes, why oh why should the tax payer provide a place for these people who have no respect for the law, other people or where they leave all their rubbish, why dont they get off their backsides and earn their benefits that they receive once again from the loyal tax payers, they are provided with a place already not all of them sleep rough as they have a place provided free of charge again so please Arfon get your facts right would you like to be faced with this litter and needle problem just from going about you own thing, so let them clean their own mess up and while they are at it clean up the town that they are responsible for making untidy with their needles and other litter.

Wow only the 3rd January and this must be up for the most ill informed, uneducated and un-compassionate post of the year.
The suggestion to set up fix rooms is a well tried and trusted method which yields good results. It allows use use of clean equipment and and proper disposal of waste, without it being ‘left out on the street’and also allows access to help and rehabilitation. Your fellow human beings need help, treatment and compassion not to be judged from up in your ivory tower. Addiction can happen to anybody.

Who will pay for the said facility?

Do the homeless have to pay for their lodgings out of their benefits?

    Genuine questions.

not ill informed, uneducated or un compassionate just the truth which you dont seem to believe just ask anyone who has these people around them and their areas then come here and place your reply, and i agree with the guy who says WHO BUT WHO is paying for the lodging they have too and now you think safe houses is right wow then i guess the poor old taxpyer will have to fund even more and not the ones that make the problem in the first place.

That will be the same people who currently pay the currwnt team of council workers who carry out the dangerous task of collecting needles and other waste from all over the county.
Surely even you can see that having one single place to safely collect used needles and waste is far safer and more cost effective than the current method.

Could someone please explain how this could work under the current legal position were possession is an offence – therefore anyone walking into one of these centres could be arrested on the street outside.
