    The M could be for market or marchnad. Or Maelor.

    Perhaps once it’s open and the people of Wrexham have had a look they might come up with their own interpretation of the M – could be anything from Oriel Madness to Oriel Magnificent.

    If the M is English, then Oriel M is itself bilingual ;-)

    I suspect locals will continue to refer to it as the former People’s Market, with a rueful tone.
