    DEMOCRATIC PARTY FOR PROSPERITY

    * Wrexham is to raise the disposable income of each citizen, comparable to the top quarter of local authority geographies in the United Kingdom.

    * Those under 18 years of age, who are disadvantaged and over 65 years of age, will receive special attention, and specific measurements will be put in place to ensure those commitments are met and that their well-being and future is championed.

    * Economic output will be championed to a level comparable with the top quarter of local authority geographies in the United Kingdom by maximising the freedom of opportunity to business and choice for the consumer.

    * Education will champion each child based on individual capability, and without discrimination of impairment.

    * Health provision and care support of those in need will perform within the top quarter of the United Kingdom, and deliver an indexed measurement for the well-being of its citizen.

    * Housing should be placed in a mutual trust, governed by its members, be capable of continual reinvestment, and always provide the option of ownership to its households.

    * Transport will be seen as the arterial system of the community, roadworks and closures will be limited, measured and published; investment will be a priority.

    * Expenditure by the county would be reduced from the last reported accounts of £430m per annum to £400m, and remain the same for four years.

    * A simple index of quality of life shall be adopted, that will ensure the built and natural environment and green spaces promotes the historic values and the future ambition of Wrexham.

    GOOD TO START SOMEWHERE

The idea of a Manifesto is good but it can’t be a rag-bag of totally unrealistic ideas that have no basis in anything.

The idea that Wrexham, for example, should raise incomes…….

What does this mean? Wrexham has no control over incomes which are subject to the prevailing economic forces in play. All the town can do is work towards creating conditions. The main commercial sector is in the South East and local wages are only on an exceptional basis high.

Those under 18 are already given exceptional treatment and over the last few years there has been every type of thing thrown at youngsters. There are now all sorts of tax credits to cover young people, educational opportunities that were never available to previous generations. Equally, why single outer older folk (like me). Adopt an across the board approach.

Whilst I like your sentiments, surely we can base our thinking in what is patently obvious and achievable. Come on folks

Respect your sentiments. While we’re all very busy keeping the wheels of the economy turning, the several million pounds that the County spends on democracy, the £430,000,000 it spends for Wrexham, and the 28 senior employees of the County costing £3,000,000 a year, plus the significantly funded other public sector resources, should be striving to generate the conditions for an educated, happy and prosperous community.

If the County spends £430,000,000, and the population is 135,070 and 63.8% are 16 to 64 years of age, roughly, that costs earning people £4,989 each.

With this and gas prices as they are it’s no wonder I am broke!
