Is this caused by the planning system? If planning committees cause so many problems, why don’t they have a committee of 12 (like a jury) with 6 councillors selected 7 days before to read the papers and 6 planning officers from neighbouring authorities who are rotated each month.

there should be NO planning officers, that would make it less democratic than it is now.

This problem is not caused by the planning committee but by one man who thought that he was above the law. The key elements of this unique grade 2 listed building need to be restored to the state before criminal damage took place to ensure that the heritage will still be there for future generations. Once the rest of the building is developed there are strong reasons for believing that it will be left to fall down.

Funny how jamie has disappeared after being asked about what his company has previous undertaken?

Perhaps he could explain what property development experience he and john have ?

The question was easy to answer – none.
I was hoping that they would have come up with a development which they had completed (hopefully controversial) where they had met all the conditions imposed by planning. The planning department in Wrexham are impotent, the Mines Rescue which was illegally partly demolished should be restored to the condition before the JCB moved in. The lack of action by the council and courts is giving a green light to any wannabe property developer to knock down first and ask questions later. K D N got away with a small fine, if the building collapses then it will be a worthwhile investment.

Possibly. I hear, there is a group of wrexham businessmen who drink and play golf together.

Occasionally they befriend a roofer, builder, plasterer, solicitor, etc and start drinking with them. They’re good with him and they make the said individual want to be a part of their group and lifestyle. They all start asking the individual to do foreigners and work for them without being paid, usually by flattering them that they are now part of their clique.

And the individual starts to believe that they are a big businessman too, whilst still doing jobs for them without getting any or little pay. Usually then, personal relationships for the individual start to go wrong… not good for a young married couple.
