wrexviewParticipantAgain this evening people on Wrexham.com Twitter are saying they have been stuck in the car park for over 30 minutes after workimg a full day. Since the completion of the new Fire and Ambulance Station there is a new rear access to hospital , tarmaced and ready for use . The last time I was there it had a simple temporary fence across it. Why hasn’t this entrance /exit been opened for use?

99DylanJonesParticipantI think it is still blocked- the potential problem is that if they opened it and due to the conjestion the Fire engines and Ambulances probably coouldn’t get out!!A real clever design by planning approval. The other end I think comes out by the back of Morrisons but with the new Aldi comeing there the traffic is probably going to be chaos again.

wrexviewParticipantThe entrance/exit I am talking about comes out almost opposite the new Moneypenny building. It doesn’t interfere with Morrisons or the new Aldi stores entrance. Traffic lights would ensure priority is given to emergency vehicles. Someone has paid for the piece of road and it is obviously designed to provide another entrance/exit to the hospital. We just need to find the person with the power to open it !

Councillor XParticipantIf people used the Hospital car park to visit patients and attend appointments instead of parking there for work or shopping without penalty, then there wouldn’t be such a problem. People are selfish creatures!
The Morrisons/ Aldi exit is going to be ridiculous as Aldi traffic will be backed up hoping that someone let them out …

wrexviewParticipantStill no answer as to why this new rear access isn’t open. The extra entrance/ exit would alleviate some of the congestion around the hospital at peak visiting and staff shift changes.

Councillor XParticipantThere are already massive queues on that part of Croesnewydd Road, waiting to get onto Ruthin Road, at various times during the day. These cause problems for ambulances and fire engines and this is worsened by Money Penny traffic leaving en masse.
Perhaps they shouldn’t have put a fire and ambulance station somewhere where traffic congestion is prolific ….

AndyParticipantWhat has happened to the plans for the new roundabout A483/Ruthin rd?
The plan was for the road from the hospital and past Moneypenny. Thats why it was all built.November 16, 2016 at 10:37 pm #122825
Born AcornParticipantIf you could get people onto the A483 quicker you wouldn’t have queues going back to Croesnewydd Road lights every day.
Give traffic turning toward Oswestry their own lane so they don’t hold up Ruthin bound traffic when slowing to turn. Then lengthen the now three lanes back to Berse lane – make that junction into a four peg roundabout connecting with the road from Moneypenny.

Give this man a job in planning! Someone who knows the area needs to make the decisions.November 17, 2016 at 2:55 pm #122875

[/quote]Yep, then they could get to queue at the Post House or Halton roundabouts that much quicker.
