I don’t buy the idea that Chester would pull away all potential diners. If that’s the case why the abudnsce of restaurants in Mold, Ruthin and Llandudo? Why did Hickorys opt to open their Welsh restaurant in Rhos on Sea instead of Wrexham? Why have Prezzo chosen to open on Broughton Park but but not here?
Wrexham doesn’t have to be a “pie and chips town”. Lots of people would use nice town centre restaurants.
I do remember the Eat Easy in late 1960’s. Situated below the Talbot Hotel. Could hardly be described as fine dining – you could have any meal you wanted – provided it was grilled and came with chips and peas. Most exotic dish they did was apple pie and fresh cream! Service was generally very slow. Only thing they did well was pretending to be a ‘proper restaurant’.
Being unfair really – probably as good as anything Wrexham can offer today!
its simple really no real demand, all people want is fast food crap especially in wrexham, plus the majority are too tight to pay for decent meal, hence the two for one rubbish, they dont mind pissing £40 – £50 up the wall but spend a similar amount on a decent meal no chance.
Wrong type of mentality i am afraid, thats why you tend to find these places in bigger towns and cities.
