What makes it even worse is that Councillor Bithell is still happy even now for Kingdom “officers” to be on the streets of Wrexham using fake threats of police assistance in order to scare people into paying illegal FPN’s.

Why a plan B? Why enforcement? A bod needs to be in the vicinity of a litter dropping person or a dog fouler to be effective and how much real chance of that borough wide is there? Unless of course you have a Kingdom style of working which, not many people want as evidenced by the outcry against them. Ciggy droppers are easy as all you need to do is follow one and voila a ciggy is discarded and a ticketing attempt made, easy peasy.
No, education is the way. Spend money on education so as to get the message home. This will not work for many but may reduce the number of people littering, dog fouling. People wanting spies on the street to jump out and fine someone is a revenge thing, imo, but not very successful as well as being wasteful on resources.

So basically the Scrutiny Committee are quite clear as to how they want to deal with litter ( sorry cigarette butt ) enforcement but the Lead Member ( sic ) is saying “ I did not see this coming and have **** all idea about what to do!

If that’s the case then someone else needs to be in charge. Football managers get quickly sacked from roles when they do poorly, as do Government cabinet members. Seems bizarre at council executive level to keep someone still doing the same thing when they are clueless. It means nothing that they are head of an independent grouping.

Clr Phillips is great at keeping Penycae tidy with his voluntary group of people, dealing with litter, fly tipping and dog fouling – on a highly frequent basis. I know this is at village level, but if he knows a thing or 2 about keeping the place clean I’m sure there’s himself and plenty other councillors who can keep their local wards clean and tidy who would be able to do a better job as Environmental Lead or even just a special delegation towards town cleanliness.

Agreed Matt, but something needs to replace it ?

When walking through town its like a different place once you go over the bridge to Eagles Meadow or from the other way from the Tesco end, the shops maybe struggling down there but the whole place is immaculate as far as litter fag ends etc. goes.

Why can’t the rest of the grubby town follow suit ?

The Eagles Meadow management employ a cleaning company to supply workers for the site. You often see them walking up and down the main plaza sweeping up litter as they go.

Good riddance Kingdom, let’s hope a certain two Councillors on the executive board follow them out of the door

Yes I realise that, so why can’t it be done for the rest of the town, or maybe get the Council Streetscene team to do it to that standard !!!

MP you hit the nail on the head – Streetscene are already in place so why cant the Council just increase their role

Am I the only person on here that wants to see Litter dropping punished by a fine? And, yes, I include fag butts too!

Wrexham 1 Kingdom do not issue “illegal FPNS” use google to find out the law.
