Are Wrexham Council going down the right road with regards to cuts ? because Flintshire Council seem to be going down a different route altogether …

Quote :- “But Flintshire council leader Aaron Shotton says the authority is planning to take a “different approach” with internal savings and “reductions in the scale and cost of senior management level as a first priority”.”

Wrexham Council’s approach to this complex question will not be the same as Flintshire’s and this may or not be the “right road”. Without knowing all the specifics of each authority, it is very difficult to calculate the best approach and one Council might have scope to cut in some areas and the other not.

We will all get our NIMBY heads on if the cuts affect our own interests but I do hope that the respective Councils adopt intelligent criteria whatever approach they take

Its nice to see a council trying to cut costs internally first before cutting services

WCBC have already gone through a major reduction in the scale and cost at senior management level and more & more work & responsibility is heaped upon the much lower paid officers!
