MattParticipantI fully support any scrutiny into public officials usage of taxpayer money for personal gain or abuse of expenses etc..
However, you look at Lucas he’s pretty low down on the scale when you compare it to the likes of Michael Gove who could well be the next PM. Gove has made profits of £870,000 on housing sales and also Sir Graham Brady chair of the 1922 committee who made a £1.1m profit.

There are no doubt countless others from all the major parties who have made grotesque profits from benefiting in ways the Average Joe could not because we cannot claim expenses.
One issue I take with the article though is that you have to question whether or not it’s an incredibly slow news day at the Daily Post for them to have only just published this today when they had the information from the original article on the 9th April. If it was that outrageous 7 weeks ago of what these North Wales MPs were up to, why did it take 7 weeks to get published?
Reach PLC (Formerly Trinity Mirror Group) are really reaching here.
Oh and the answer to your original question on whether or not Ian Lucas et all will give the money back? Well, never in a million years will Gove and chums be ever asked or offer to pay their money back so that will mean neither will any other politicians lower down the scale.
P.s. if Gove becomes PM – even though he says he is dedicated to delivering Brexit – he plans to offer FREE British Citizenship to the 3 million EU nationals who were living in the UK at the time of the Brexit vote. This would mean he’s effectively creating up to 3 million new Remain Voters (highly motivated ones) if there was to be a People’s Vote further down the line. This would almost certainly tip the scales in favour of remaining in the EU.
You have to love British politics and how politicians will find new and exciting ways to anger sections of the British public.

TimRegencyParticipantHow does Jeremy Corbyn’s record re expenses compare to these?
The reason I ask is because some of these MPs look down their noses at Corbyn and his supporters, when perhaps they should be paying closer attention to their own back yard.
